If you don't like it then it's all good, you have the EVO 8, mitsu can't make an EVO for everyone. Some will like the 8/9 some will like the 10 and some will like them all. But the big issue here is that a bunch of you guys act like little girls making these stupid post. If you don't like the X, enjoy what you have, 1 - 9 are all awesome EVOs.
Future Evo Models should be a spot for information about the next gen EVOs, in this case it's the X. This is not a place to post about your hurt feelings. If you want to talk about how Mistu didn't make an EVO X for you and now you cry yourselves to sleep every night because of that then go post in OT.

I have no doubt that the release of the new version will be faster, better handling, and much nicer than any of the other stock lancer evolutions. This is fine for 30% of the Evolution-owning crowd, but for the 70% that mod Evo's I'm not sure how an aluminum block will fair with a GT35R trying to push Meth and 25+ PSI. Mod-a-bility is my concern, not what's better stock. Of course it's better than a stock 9.

What makes an Evo an Evo is the question everyone should be asking. For me it's:

2.0 liter motor
Turbo
AWD
4 doors
Race ready brake hardware
Insane grip tires
Great handling
Spartan interior

Ok so the X doesn't have a spartan interior but in this day and age, it's not the nicest interior either. You guys talk about the paddle shifters like a standard manual transmission is what makes an Evo an Evo. Go tell the WRC guys their Evo is not a true Evo because it has paddle shifters.

The Evo has everything else that makes an Evo what it is in my mind. I'll probably buy the XI or XII when it comes out for my DD and make my IX a track/weekend car. I bought the IX because I absolutely hate the look of the X and I've always loved the styling of the VII generation but didn't really feel the front of the VIII either. Finally the IX came and it was perfect in my eyes in every way.

The X is still a true Evo so you IX guys bashing on it will be inserting your foot into your mouth in the near future.

I'm just so f*cking sick of all these "Evolution" owners who build their car up to god's gift to the motoring public and spout off all these facts about Evo's but, freak the hell out over Mitsu changing the car.

Did you not understand what the name meant or know the history of the car?

That and the talk about what a raw drivers car it is and you can forgive a lot because it's fast then get all bent about the styling. If the car comes out and has bad *** performance are you not going to buy it because of the looks? What happened to being all about the performance?

I wasn't one bashing on the X but I guess I can reply to your post.

I can forgive a spartan interior, harsh ride, road noise, and less than stellar gas mileage. I can just drive my fiancee's BMW when those factors become a problem. I can't stand a butt ugly car though.

Not to enthusiastic about the engine, but am really curious about the Super active yaw Control. I wonder if we will be able to use their sayc on our Evo's.

Probably not. We couldn't stick in an AYC unit onto our cars because of the location of the emissions control EVAP unit. Mitsu most likely put that emissions system somewhere else on the car.

Looks are subjective. I actually like the look of the X more than the current gen.

I'm just saying a lot of people can forgive the looks of the current car because of it's performance. Why couldn't they for the new car as well? Especially since very few have actually seen it. Cars tend to look different in person than in pictures.

I wholeheartedly agree that if a person thinks the IX is ugly but ignores that fact because of the performance, there is absolutely no reason they should not be able to do that for the X. I personally love the look of the IX and everything about the X except for the front end. It looks like it's frowning and wants to swallow up the cars on the road.

I believe it to be the last JDM Evolution. Just like the new GT-R too many other people have their hands in the production of the X as well. Mitsu will be able to sell this car because it will appeal to more people. But its not what I expected, but I am sure it will perform well.

So is the rumor. I don't believe they'd just throw all that AYC stuff and create a whole new wiring harness, new ecu program JUST because they had to stick an EVAP unit on our vehicles. The fact of the matter is, they charged just the same without it. Who knows what the real reason is.

No EVAP = no cars being sold in the US. It would've been easier for Mitsu just to ship out the cars with the AYC unit instead of going through all the trouble of new crap for us.
