I fell in love with the motor all my friends call bullet proof and the boxy sedan that could whip a 2 door SS camaro. I bought a IX because I felt this is the last year my dream car will be made. I couldnt pass it up. Do you all think the X has the power to become so many peoples dream car like all the other evo's? Do you think the X is truly a "Lancer Evolution"? Just curious.

Seriously, the IX is no more or less an evo than any of the others. the 10 will be better, the 8 is worse, it's evolution baby....

10 should be better once it released and the BIG BOYS GET A HOLD OF THEM BUSCHUR, AMS, etc.... and they come out with Incredible results... then we can say it is better...but the only issue thats on my mind is how fast Tuners will be when trying to TUNE it. Tuners these days with the IX are just insane, lets just hope the X will be as easy too tune as IX's are... actually adapt as well as the IX does ....but as of right now IX>X thats my $.02

 

The X will definitely be harder to tune and work with (Direct Injection, anyone?), but in the end it will probably be a better setup.

i also was going to wait for the evo X to come out but instead hurried up and bought a black evo 9 instead. Why, well I was impressed by how the looks was going to change inside and out and though it would have even more power/torque and was hoping finally the US version would get the sweet yaw control. Well in the end, yes it seems the x will look better and get yaw control..switching over to a new 4B11T engine put a stop to me waiting for it.
Yes the corvette and other sports cars have been using all aluminum engines for a while now and with success. But with the evo, how mod friendly would it be with this new engine? And hearing of this paddle shifter also kinda blew it for me, I did not want to wait around to find out you can have a manual option.
after owning the evo 9 for 4 months now, the looks kinda grew on me more, i kinda like how it looks.
I will not be trading in for the X,

 

Just my .02 but the new 4B11 seems fairly reliable.......I haven't heard of any lancers or dodge watchimacallits blowing up........yet.....and i fully trust mitsu's work on what ever they build.......plus if somethin does happen they got a perty good warranty on 'em

 

I'm going to buy a Evo X because it's better than the IX. While I whip that 2 door SS camaro, your car too will be behind me. The look of the X is more refined and doesn't look like a car that if you're over 16 years old - you're too old to be driving it. The interior of an Evo 8/9 is straight out of a 9,000 dollar car except for the cool racing seats you see young kids put in their Civics along with the fart cans. Oh let's not forget about the wing on the Evo 8/9. It is the stupidest thing they could ever put on a car and how many of you truly ever drive your car the 100+mph on a AWD car that it takes to make a difference. I also love the posts from people who ask if their Evo 8/9 is going to be considered a classic in X amount of years - HOW STUPID CAN YOU GET?

In ending - this whole post is a joke. I love everything about the Evo. But us X guys are getting really tired of you fan boi's going out of your way to dog the X to make yourself feel better about buying an 8/9. Yes your car is sweet and will still be sweet after the X comes out - relax!
