for the people comparing the new sti and evo as far as price...

just read an article about the STI in car and driver where they tested a new STI.

BASE- 35,640
Price as tested- (18" wheels, fogs and NAVI) 39,440$ !!!!!!!!!

i know I saw someone on here say the new stis were only 35k and the MR was almost 40k, how could we compare the 2. Price is the same.!!!

O and they got a best of 13.6 in the 1/4 so I dont wanna hear how the new STI outperforms the STI and blah blah blah

Plus the evo X looks 100 times hotter

The 39,440 figure is correct though. So you get premium wheels and navigation for ~500 dollars more than the base price of the MR. Stop the presses!

^ Definitely... while that same price tag is also nuts for a Mitsubishi, it's at least something that was done in the past (3000GT VR4), so it's not something that has never happened in the company's performance offerings, whereas I believe this is a first for Subaru's performance offerings in the U.S. But that aside, it's still a lot of money... much more so than compared to before, despite the fact of it being a new model with new stuff. It was quite a price hike.

yeah that is getting in a different price bracket really... you can get a 335i for 39k, yes not a similar car then the Evo/Sti, but if I'm going to look at 40k cars I'm going to look at a BMW

Yup.. 100% agree... The whole attractive point for the evo n STi used to be the low 30k price tag.. and the 70-80k performance...
And I've driven a 335i, not exactly what people think it to be.. espcially the clutch.

To get a comparably equipped Evo X, it will likely be just a bit more than the STI according to all the information out so far

The pricing for the STI and Evo X are a gamble by both companies

Both cars are priced dangerously close to a 135i, 335i, IS350, A4, C-class, G35, etc, etc.

The value of the dollar is to blame. Well, actually, Bush is to blame. Everything costs more because of him.

According to the information out so far, the base MR will not have Navi. The Navi comes in the Technology Package along with a couple other things. Speculation right now is that an MR with Technology Package will be over $40K
