Lease the EvoX (10) ??
has anyone actually leased an evolution X yet? there was another thread about leases here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ighlight=lease but was inconclusive on pricing. but towards the end and evom staff member explained general leasing in an exciting way.

You can mod it, but all the mods have to be reversible, so major body mods are ill advised. So, intake, exhaust, ecu flash, basic bolt ons, and certain exterior pieces, but certainly not the extent of a car you own.
As to why, think of it this way, no car comes from the factory problem free. If you really want an Evo, but want the slightly less buggy one, I'd lease for the standard 2 years. Then if you really like the car, buy a new one, a 2010 model, which by then should have a fair few of the "starter" kinks worked out.
I know coming in on the ground floor of the 335, I ran into a fair few problems which resulted in me having to go to the stealership more often then I really have time for.
Cons:
Cost: Leasing is more expensive really, for a 2 year lease with the option to buy, it is more expensive then buying the car outright.
Modding: depending on who you are, modding may or may not be a priority. As a result of the Internet Forum community, it often appears as though every person who owns and Evo mods it, but a simple look through the For Sale section proves otherwise. In fact, a good deal of people will never mod their Evo's, but that's likely to be a result of their age or car preferences, so your unlikely to see many of them here.
Hard Driving: You have to be more careful in a leased car then a Purchased one, because they can charge you if they feel you drove it hard enough to break something after its been returned after two years.
Probably a longer answer then you were really asking for, but I had a few minutes to spare

There was a separate thread about leasing an evo discussing the ins and outs of it that would be a good read. I would like to keep this thread open to finding out simply if this is a possibility currently and what its looking like.

I heard from a leasing show here in Dallas that the residual value on the Evo is a lot better than most cars out there. Look at the 03... it sold for 34K and now it's 20K... it's a 14K drop over 5 years. Compare that to any 30K car... plus, the EVO has a short demand.
I'd however recommend leasing the new GT-R... its demand is so high that people might not lose that much money at the end.

you don't have to lease a car from the company that makes it... there are 3rd party leasing companies that will do any deal that makes sense. they're almost always better than leasing from the dealer.
