Mitsubishi To Stop Delivering X's As Of May???

I cant say this to be 100% true because I just dont know, but I have a pretty reliable source who I do trust with this kind of information. He claims that there will be NO MORE deliveries of evo X's after May of 2008 severly limiting the amount of total EVO X's shipped to the US.

Again I dont know this to be true but maybe if anyone else has a dealer connection, they could attempt to verify this info.

Glad I'm getting one next week!!!!!

1. They arent available in Florida yet.
2. Theres not enough info yet for people to switch from the IX.
3. Mitsu is having a slow sales period.
4. The MR doesnt even come out until near then anyway.
5. Alot of us are waiting to see all of the models. What if the MR simply rocks the socks?

If they ever officially release this, Im saying now, probably a sales ploy.

makes no sense unless there's a production problem? the only people to benefit would be the dealerships via crazy markups, but even so they won't make up the lost revenue from not having any cars to sell. I'd offer the following two theories:

1) it's a false rumor created to drive up the dealer markups
2) it's true because there is a production problem (e.g. 1-2 shift problem, antenna bending roof problem, etc.) and mitsu needs to halt production until the problem(s) are addressed

that's my prophecies for the Year of the Rat - happy (asian) new year everyone .

I always sorta figured the MR would be an 09. Who releases an 08 in late spring of 08?

I agree with buffaluphagus.

I have not heard of them stopping production or shipment of the X's. Hell my dealership still havent recieve their first shipment of 2 yet. It is true thought about the MR's not being shipped YET. They will be shipped but not untill the SST transmission is working correctly.

It isnt just Mitsubishi sales that are down. Look at the sales numbers for all the manufactures, especially Ford's. Last I checked or heard, their sales were down over 17% from last year, and last year was a slow year for them.

Nope, Ford's Jan '08 sales were only down 3.9% from Jan '07. The average for all manufacturers was -2.9%. Mitsubishi set the record, though, at -23%.
