I have reevolved
I didn't expect to evolve until May but the right price at the right time happened last night and I couldn't pass on it. Out with the Mazdaspeed 3, in with the Evo X.
My impressions:
This may be the best handling stock car I've ever owned. The Super AYC does not allow you to understeer and the car rotates almost in a video game-esque way. Gone is the fidgety steering immediately off center but it's still quick and the chassis is so stiff that the car doesn't feel its weight.
The engine still has the expected turbo lag but pulls hard to redline, something my old Evo VIII didn't do stock. I also appreciate the fact that it's very quiet (The 4G63 wasn't exactly a nice sounding motor and my guess is the 4B11 isn't much different).
Ultimately, this will be a fantastic daily driver for me. I bought the one without the SSL package (Or any options whatsoever!) as I found the wing blocked rearward view. I would have liked the smart key but it isn't a necessary feature.
So, anyone know of anyone looking for a Porsche?

The Evo has turbo lag and a rush of power at 3000 RPMs, It has a trick differential that helps rotate the car through turns, and feels a bit more artificial but every bit as entertaining.
The fun of the Evo lies in its ability to make you heroic with its chassis and sophisticated drivetrain while the Porsche keeps you right in the middle of the action with its steering feel, driver placement, and engine growl.
