Your going to have to excuse me, but I'm not sure what "SSS" is, but I'm guessing its a sunroof and stereo package? The particular model I was looking at was a MT GSR model, and it was stickered in the 36,000 range, not including dealer markup. Which means that that car will probably be taxes and all out the door for right about 40K. Werent IX MR SEs going for 35-36k out the door?

[Cheap interior? Are you serious? I'm not saying that it's a lexus, but it's a huge step up from the 8 and 9. Plus, what are you complaining about?, you drive a talon. Cheap interior... you're funny man.
No Evolution ever made had much of an "interior" to speak of, they are basicly a Lancer with Recaros and some different guages and other misc stuff. Hell, an STi has a considerably better interior quality over a base Impreza. But all I have been reading was this new car (X) was being marketed to a slightly older demographic, and to steal some of the customer base from that of higher end marks (ie BMW, Audi, ect.). When I sat in that X, all I saw was some cheap wanna-be carbon fiber crap along the dash, and some Recaros, nothing that really screamed to me 35K dollar car.

My Talon cost me $1300, and I have $5,500 total into it. Hardly worth talking about in a thread about a new car. Anyhoo, my mom's Infiniti G35 and buddy's Acura TSX are tons nicer inside and out, and it's not like the Evolution is lightyears faster than either of those cars (factory). Hell, you can get a badass BMW 3 series for the price of the new Evolution, and you won't look quite as much of a tool sitting at a light as the Evo.

Bah, as they say, "theres an *** for every seat"

a tsx is like 0-60 in 6.5 vs 0-60 in 4.8..... That's huge

I had a tsx 6 speed and a evo 8 and drove a evo x gsr... The tsx isnt close

Are you out of your ****ing mind?!? The X isn't much faster than your buddy's TSX??? Now that is some funny ****. If I'm not mistaken all you did was sit YOUR *** in the seat of the X, no? Did you drive it? To say something as stupid as the Evo X not being that much faster than the Acura is ridiculous. That thing is like 0-60mph in 9 seconds? Do yourself a favor and don't talk about "mom's" car. It shows your age.

Was I missing somthing by not driving it? Was it going to make me do backflips and trade in all of my cars for it? It's not even as fast as the IX. I am not judging it by how it handles, how it feels going to the park in it, or how it feels flipping it over into a ditch. I'm saying that looking inside, sitting in it, and observing the fit and finish of it over a BASE LANCER is overall unimpressive.

No, a TSX or G35 or even a 3 series is not as fast as the X, but your not getting as much of a car for your money as any of the other three cars. If you have a problem with me citing a refrence to a family member's vehicle, that is fine. I will venture to say that the interior of the "Evo" X isn't even as good of a quality as my 07 Civic, and it's a $18,000 car.

ok ok guys, as the resident Acura driver I must say... "TalonTuner", YOU HAVE NO CLUE what your talking about. I own a 6spd manual 05TL with dual greddy evo II exhaust and fujita cai and I have RAPPED z's , g35's, s2000's and rsx-s's and I know for a fact that a tsx wouldn't have a prayer against me. With that said, I've raced countless evo 8's and 9's and lost by half car lengths and more. If an evo x even comes close to the power of an evo 8 then it would blow the doors off of a tsx. But it all depends on what the person wants, My car looks better and is WAY more luxurious then your moms g35 (Example shown ) and your buddys TSX but I'm ready for boost and all wheel drive so I'm buying a x in a few months. And I will gladly pay 35 to 38k for the legendary performance of the latest evolution. Many don't mind performance over luxury but then again your talon doesn't have either so go figure.

Ok, positive or negative, these I went to the dealership and test drove the X opinion threads are really starting to get freakin' old. Seriously your not providing us with any new and thrilling info and a lot of what you and these other threads have to say is purely subjective. I mean you say it feels slow, then somebody else says it feels awesome, you say the interior is so cheap, and the next guy says it's a mark improvement over the IX. My point is these threads are now all purely subjective and getting really old.

Oh boy, he says, "It's not even as fast as the IX" as if the IX is slow, or as if there are a ton of cars faster then the IX. The IX is a difficult machine to top power wise, so mitsu went a different direction the x does however have more technological advancements though, see how mitsu sacrificed a bit of it's raw power for more technology. As far as you saying that someone won't be getting as much car for the money your wrong! Your money is just going more towards performance and less towards interior quality. You said it yourself, "TSX or G35 or even a 3 series is not as fast as the X". THAT'S WHAT YOUR PAYING FOR, PERFORMANCE! And please for all of our sake just don't even mention a civic on this entire forum.

Your comment would have some volume to it if all that matter was going in a straight line. I mean I am not gonna say the EVO X is the best thing since slice pie, but pretty much every automotive journalist, magazine, and tuner has given it more compliments than gripes, even in comparison with the 3 series. I am just saying that when you say tool, I guess you mean Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Automotive, Edmunds, MSN, Road and Track, Vishnu, Buschur Racing, Turbo Trix, Vivid Racing, and etc. are all tools too. I mean don't get me wrong, the EVO X isn't perfect, but neighter is the EVO IX, nor the 3 series, nor the 1 series. Also what bad *** 3 series can you get for the price of X GSR, even a 328i is stretching it, and that is a nice car, but I don't know anybody who would call it bad ***.

Test a 2008 STI, I'm going to choose between the two. From reviews out there, the 2008 STI is either faster or as fast as the EVO IX. I might go with the STI because of its power and practicality. EVO X has a lot of high tech electronics though built it, we guys, love gadgets too.

as much of a car for your money?

It all depends on where you want your money spent.
Does it make you feel better if Mitsubishi takes out the Brembo Rotors brake systems and spend that 4k on leather seats?
Take away 4k worth of Recaro seat and make the EVO dash kit out of Silk.
Take away the 4k worth S-AWC yew control system and gold plate everything in the car?.
Take away the 4k worth AWD and add a Swimming pool in the trunk for the kids.

I didnt even talk about the Turbo yet, because Im keeping that.

After everything is all said and done, I have a car just like the TSX but much faster.
leather everything, Gold plated everything, Dash is made of silk, that is way better then any TSX. Plus a swimming pool in back, And that my friend is how I want to spend my money.

Just a reminder that your buddy's TSX is nothing more then just an over price
outdated Honda Accord With Leather seat.

Maybe the IX is faster, but in the states, the X outhandles the IX. and plus, it is barely slower. I don't plan on buying one for it's stock power, but more so for it's potential.
