I havent been in actual snow but the skidpan I went on was designed to have the same "grip" as snow and with full SAWC on it would be pretty tough to spin the car. Turning it off was a different story though! The video is on my track impressions thread

tires are crap, upgrade them to some serious treads like the Winter force tires or something then you will have great handling for snow.

i live in conneticut, i plan on changing the stock tires unless i really like them to even more aggressive summer tires and getting a second set of rims for blizzaks for the cold season

The best snow tire in the world is made by Nokian. They invented the snow tire, there from finland. Its also the scca pro rally spec tire. And there priced well too. Check em out, they also last 2-3 seasons longer than michelins or bridgestones.

I'm suprised you found the winter traction ok in the IX with stock advans. I went to move the car in my driveway in the first snow storm (3 inches) and the car slid all over the place. It's a somewhat steep driveway, but my Galant VR-4 with awd and all seasons never had an issue, nor did my Accord or Odyssey with snow tires. The Galant VR-4 was fun to drive in the snow but the IX was stressful until I put on winter tires.

I'm curious to see how the X does with snow tires.

Look, I saw all those videos going up last winter with people sliding all over the place on snow/ice, but once we got our IX I was really quite surprised with how it handled...it was great. I'm not sure how everyone else drives when the roads are slick, but the Evo's do great with the way I drive. I've had absolutely zero problems with stock evo tires regarding handling on snow/ice.
