To me it doesn't seem like it's the same shade Rally Red as the evo viii or ix. It looks more darkish and burgundy.

 

it isnt... I don't know why they call it that.... My 03 was rally red and the red one I sold wasn't the same color .... I'm glad its just not me

I do like it though....

 

Yeah its more of a cherry red, and appears maroon in dim light. The first time I went to see the Lancers in the dealership was late evening. Laid eyes on the 'Rally Red' and was instantly turned off by its dull maroon shade...

More crimson/blood-like to me. It's nothing like the burgundy on the '04-'06 base lancers (insert finger in throat).

 

Yeah i don't like the new red at all. looks pedestrian. the red on a sports car should be bold and simple. think Ferrari. what's lame is i wanted a REAL rally red X...but now I'll likely go with PB...

 

I liked the RR when I saw it in daylight, but it's pretty...boring in low light. The octane blue is a nice improvement over the old electric blue, though. Less purple-y.

 

agreed, its does look kinda burgundy-like, and very very different from the previous IX's red. The old red was more akin to Porsche's 'Red Guard' or Mazda's 'Velocity Red'. If the X came out with the red on the IX, it would have been my first choice, no doubt.

I agree with you. My RR VIII is RED, not maroon.

 

Looks burgundy to me.

 

I like the red. I think black is by far my fav though.

 

I went to the dealer a couple days ago and I thought it was funny the salesman said the same thing, its just not quite red enough.

 

In person it looks just like the 'Sedona Red' on older WRX'...can't stand it on those cars bleh. I call it yuppie red....see it on alot of SUV's. On the EVO it isn't bad just not as nice like the rest of the colors. And especially in low light looks average. The Blue looks just like the STi blue except it looks far better on the X. For me it's Black or White simple
