A mustang? I have the evo x and a shellby gt500, all i can say is good luck with that mustang the handling resembles more a yatch than a car.

Check out a '11 with a Brembo package. The Shelby is a pig.

Don't get me wrong; it's not as if the thing represent the pinnacle of automotive achievement. It's just more fun.

yeah, in a straight line, in a perfect road. lots of fun. I gues i bought an engine when i bought the shelby, not a car. my evo does circles around the shelby on the track, but the shelby passes the evo on the 1/4 mile like the evo let of the gas.

If we're talking money, the GSR is roughly $5-7k cheaper than an STI, depending on the deal you get...

Dude you don't buy an evo or sti to lug crap around! If that's the case get a Ralliart, it's got much more room then the sti.

If your going to modify the car, the EVO is a far better platform.

This.
For several reasons that are well documented.

evo is the much better car. maybe if it was 2011 sti sedan vs evo x then who knows. the new sti looks nice and should be a force to be reckoned with. the 08 sti is a turd. check the reviews from every single car site on the net. r they all wrong?

Dude..

first of all, anybody can buy any car for any reason, or no reason at all.

Second of all, I have a GF, of whom has a 5 year old daughter and we like to go places and do fun things and typically we have to bring stuff with us. We could not do this with the Evo X's trunk. We could bring plenty of stuff along in the STi for sure. So yeah a lot of you may buy the car for the all out performance and not care about space, but there are people who would like performance but still be able to haul stuff around and go on trips, etc. without having to buy a Toyota Rav4 or minivan.

Why would I need to read and listen to some internet reviews of the car, when i've just driven it and experienced it first hand for myself?

I can agree on the reliability issues with the 08 STi's, grenading motors and what not but the actual car itself is a damn good car, I don't care what MotorTrend, Car & Driver or any other ignorant magazine says.

Not sure where you're looking up pricing, perhaps you're building an STi with every accessory possible, and the Evo X with none, but if you build a GSR with SSS on Mitsubishi's web site it's like $36k, which is about the same as the STi.

The 2010 STi Special Edition is $32,900 MSRP, which has beefier suspension than the regular STi's, deletes HIDs, replaces the 10 speaker system with a standard 4, replaces dual climate control with regular A/C knobs and removes the turn signals from the side mirrors.

Once again Evo = cheaper to mod, better track car

sty = better dd, 6 speed manual tranny

they are both great cars and I personally think sti's look way better in person than in pictures, but just beware of the piston problems when buying an sti. My buddy was stage 2 and had his motor blown due to that.
