I know you said new, but if you're willing to go slightly used (still well inside warranty period), look for Nissan GT-Rs. I've driven one several times and I think it will fit your criteria very nicely and if you really search, you should be close to $65k. Well worth the effort or bending of your budget.

What's your hang up with the warranty? You can get a really sweet X for 30k and with the 30k you save you can prepare for whatever mitsu won't cover. Most people here have had good luck with their modded evo and warranties. Take 10k of that 30k for upgrades and your zo6 won't seem so quick anymore. My .02

I agree with this. If you do even a tune (or cobb ap) and some minor bolt-ons (which you can remove if you need to take it in) you'll gain about 80+whp. It makes a huge difference.

There is one or two companies that do it for the STi too... I think ETS? I can't remember the name, I remember videos. The BR Evos I would "think" would be covered anywhere. The FQ ones are, unless I'm mistaken. And then that just ruins the whole point.

Just mod and go back to stock if you need to go in for warranty work. Piece of cake unless you're doing stuff more advanced than BR/FQ stuff anyway.

The rear seats in the GTR look pretty useless. Looked inside one at the local dealership.

No four wheel dyno within 3 hours of here. I know I could have the work done elsewhere and have it tuned while its there, but I barely have time to get out of town as it is. No point in doing it if you can't keep on top of things. I would want it tuned after every mod.

Try Mellon tuning... they do email tunes. I think they have a 3 month program where you can get free updates for 3 months (after each mod).

you can build a sti with mods from the factory with warranty.
subaru.com

if your looking for a warranty, your looking for very low power increase.

Great car. Starts at 62K and has alot of luxury items but does not match the performance of the Z06. Definitely one to consider though.

thanks for the mention, this is a great option for people who want to make changes during the tuning process locally or remotely
