I remember going to subic one year. We stayed at the Lengenda Hotel which had a casino across the street. I was on the computer ruolette (spelling) and all I did was bet on black. If I lost, I double my bet and bet on black and so forth. Started with 1000 pesos. After 5 hours, 10 shopows, 2 bottles of wine, 12 bottles of San mig, and a huge crowd cheering, I walked out with 75,000 pesos. Funny thing was my sister in law did the same but her hands were 50 pesos and mine were 2000. Became an elite member, I think that was what its called, went go-kart racing and ate some pho, went to the bar to hear some singing, went jet skiing, got a shave and hair cut, manicure, massage, etc. The philippines has got to be the greatest place on earth to go on vacation. It also helps to have a wife that was miss Pangasinan!

Japorms naman! San miguel, itong ang beer!

Do you know Jon the mayor of Saul I think that is what its called? Also, next time you go to baguio, stop by Matutina Seafood in Urdaneta. I am good friends with Jerry and by far, it is the best place to eat in all of PI. Mention my name and he can give you a discount. Not that its ever needed but it is nice to feel like family diba! That is a favorite place of Gloria

San Miguel is like Bud. Red Horse is where it's at!
I agree, I've been on vacation there a few times now and have a blast every time. My wife and her family is from Cebu, will be going back next year with the new born.

60-100 bucks a nite
WTF? Last I saw it was like 25 cents??

Maybe it's just where you are.

FWIW, I am also in a quandary with the X or M3. I can't stand the bumpy ride any more, but I don't want to spend $60,000 for a name badge. The X might be a good alternative but the dealer won't give me a test drive because I already told them I wouldn't buy a X with the 5-speed.

For the record the 335i is not as fast as an Evo 8 despite the paper numbers.

D Didit,

What a story! You must be kidding about Ms. Pangasinan! Akin Ms. de la Salle lang but she's still a babe!

Thanks for the reco on Matutina's resto. I'll make it a point to stop there on the way to Bagiou. Sila de Venecia are good friends of mine so you must know them too.

Impulsoren,

If the price diff is just that, it's a no brainer - get the M3. It's a great car. Here the M3 is $166K vs the X's $71K so that's why the X makes better sense here. To others asking why it's so F____ng expensive? It's because import taxes are 100%!

I hate to ask but what do you do as a profession to get all those toys you have. The things I hear that people that own those type of cars are people in the government and family members, and military that are corrupt and take the peoples money. Even the well to do do not have those type of cars. Just wondering.

GT3nut,

My wife was Miss Calasiao 1998, Miss Pangasinan in 1998. She was in the Binibining pagent in 1999. I met her in 2001 while on vacation. Before I was married, I use to go to the phils 4 times a year. Obviously for vacation. Practically knew everyone on PAL and especially my ate's at customs. Kathrina did not win but Miriam Quiambo (spelling) did. Oh well! Life is great.

Savageevo,

Don't underestimate what people do or are capable of in countries such as ehe PI. It is a matter of the economy and those that are willing to REINVEST their money that make it good. Of course there are the corrupt just like the ones here in the US. However, of all the wealthy that I know there, they are all business people that do very well in a country that has alot of poor people. I say poor people because they lack the skills required to make it big in a country of so many. For me, just being there for a few months, you can easily see where the money can be made. The problem is who do you trust to run your business. As an example, I already know of a way to make at least 1000 dollars a day! Unfortunately, it will require a monopoly on the market and it may cost me my life. As a hint it deals with food and filipinos love to eat!
