Well, lets see: 4.0 V8 to 2.0 I4T, 414hp to 291hp, RWD to AWD, 63 grand to 33 grand, German to Japanese. I'm not really seeing how they are even remotely alike in any way. About the only thing you could compare is their hefty curb weights. Besides that, they are completely dissimilar.

"A gear and a stab of throttle sends the Evo after it, but without the shocking sense of urgency that I still clearly recall from the final fettlings of the last-gen car. The gearbox has that familiar short, sharp action, the turbo is still lag-less and the revs eager to build, but something's missing."
Interesting.
Interesting.

Good review but give me an EVO X over ANY car in the word (outside of a 1973 Australian Ford Falcon XB GT) think MADMAX!!! The GT-R "is what it is" and to say the EVO could remotely keep up is saying a lot about Mitsu! Top Gear rocks, hands down my all time favorite car related show.

Nice read, especially with the hype surrounding the GTR. It was swamped at the NY Auto Show.
With the base GT-R startng at $69,850 and the base X starting at $32,990, I bet someone could take that extra $36,860 and make the X pretty durn close to the GT-R's level. Either way, it'd be one hell of an Evo!
The GTR is pretty sweet, but other than an Evo, the only car I really want is a ZR1. Talk about hot...
With paint barely dry, it's crying out for a big performance makeover.

Yea man, I was hoping for a cool vid like the one on Top Gear between the 04 STI and the EVO 8. With the music and shiat. It may still come.
