Converting non-HID evo to HID

I am really wanting to convert my non-HID EVO to a HID EVO, but I have some confusion by trying to do this.

My ultimate goal is to buy the JDM MR headlights for my Evo, but I have seen that it says I need a HID kit first. That is fine because I have seen them on Ebay pretty cheap, and I would like having HID. However, I am not going to buy the new headlights for a little while and I only have the stock headlights to work with. Does anyone know if the bulbs are the same size and will work for either headlamp? I am not even sure what size bulb I need right now, because I don't know if I need to get highbeam or lowbeam. The reason I am having this problem is because I was looking in a bulb guide and it showed that there is different sizes on whether it is high or low beam, but when i go to order a kit on ebay it only gives you a choice for 1 bulb. Which one do I need to pick, and will it work in this headlight and the JDM headlamp that I want to get later?

Thanks for any assistance.

All you need is a D2R HID kit for low beams. Dont cheap out though.

Is this for the Evo X? If it is, my understanding is that there is no difference in JDM headlights vs. USDM headlights.

This is for a 2005 Evo. Does anyone have a recommendation on brand of HID kits?

HID housing uses 9005 bulbs for low beam and H11 for Fog I believe. JDM housing uses 9006 for fog.

I'm selling my Kaixen HID kit if you're interested. It's probably one of the best in the market.

To answer your question about will your HID kit work for JDM housing. No and Yes. If you get a kit for your car right now, it'll be a 9006 kit. JDM or HID housing uses a 9005 bulb so it will not be a direct fit. But to make it work, you'll need to get the 9006 to 9005 adaptor plus 9005 HID bulbs.
