does the X get the same attention?
so as most older version evo's always had people reving at them or had people checking there cars out... do the X people still get those sometimes annoying revs? or people just staring at your car?

Usually I get at least 3 questions a day, which pretty much consists of, "OMG, IS IT FAST?!" , "OMG, IS THAT THE NEW ONE?" or "OMG, HOW IS IT?!?!"
Then about once a week: stopped at a light, G35/7 pulls up (almost always a G35/7...seems they're the most gloaty or something), revs, rolls down his window, "let's go." I nod, in agreement. I rev a little, light turns green - they shoot off (while I'm pretty much still in the same place - I don't race .)
Maybe twice a week I get the occasional thumbs up (usually from Civics).
And then maybe once a day I see another Evo, and we throw peace signs.
And the non-direct attention: I get people cutting me left and right. It's annoying, but whatever.
Anyway, yes, lots of attention!

I believe the front fascia is capable of wetting panties. I've got a thumbs up from a 90's era Celica GT and had a base Neon try to race me, he had a fart cannon attached, I let him do his thing, racing on the road is a HUGE NO, NO for me! Everyone who comes into contact is and was totally floored. I've also had young kids stand and point while their jaws hit the ground. So yeah, It's an attention getter (a lot of females thus far)! I think most women like it due to the fact it looks expensive.

It looks nothing like a regular Lancer, trust me I've owned both the GTS is apex and now the X in apex. Totally different cars that share a little over 10 percent of the same parts. The old base lancer looked like a worn bar of soap, the EVO looked great but something had to be done with the base model, my OZ was hideous.

You know in the past year I've only seen 1 EVO 9 and it's my neighbors - I havn't seen 1 EVO X on the road at all! The only ones I see are parked in the back of the Mitsubishi Dealership that arn't selling... Wonder why they don't seem popular here. Everyone seems to be buying is250's, I swear I see at least 10 minimum everyday

To be honest I rarely see any Evo's in my neck of the woods, more WRX's than anything. I'm starting to see base models Lancers here and there i.e. the GTS. I've only seen 2 9's and that was over a year ago.

Love it.
Yep! I don't know about previous Evo's, but the X gets tons of attention, both good and bad.

I haven't seen that many evo X's yet, but I don't think they'll get the same attention as the 8's and 9's since the 10's are in appearance very similar to the lancers, esp. the gts, just with wider body. So people who don't know, they'll just think its a reg. lancer; and a lot of people DON"T know evo's, they just see them as riced out lancers lol.

Man, I can count on one hand the attention this car has brought. Twice was at dealerships, one a Honda and the other at the Mitsu dealer I bought it.
This car looks a lot like a regular Lancer to the untrained eye. Heck, I saw a regular Lancer at a distance from the rear side and totally thought it was an Evo.
My VIII got relentless attention, especially when it was new. Everyone and their uncle tried to instigate a street race with me. My IX got decent attention, but not quite like the VIII.
This car does not lift an eyebrow. It completely flies under the radar, and I imagine 99% of the people who see it think that I'm some guy with a riced out 160 HP FWD autotragic.
The "wets panties" comment above cracks me up. Most chicks older than 17 don't dig Mitsubushis, even if they run single digit ETs. My wife loved my 335i, and I noticed girls looking up at that car all the time. They look down on me in this car.
That said, if you buy a car as a status symbol, you need to have your head checked anyway. I bought this car for what it can do, not what it looks like.
