Manual says 5k for normal usage, 3k for severe usage, but Mitsu issued a bulletin saying 3k for EVERYONE, as posted by RusselM who works for a dealership here:

Just got my EVO X 2 weeks ago and it has 6,000 miles on it. I dont think the oil has ever been changed from the looks of it when I changed it. I hope my engine hasn't got any additional ware from this or anything.

P.S. No disrespect.
P.S.S. It is recomended to change the oil @ 3k or 5k depending on your driving habits and location. But i would say change it @ 1k the first time to get all the bit of metal and stuff out of the engine.

What filters have all of you used so far? Where have you sourced them?
As for interval changes, this debate will never end with any marque. Do what you can afford. Personally with a high quality synthetic oil and good filter, I see no reason to accelerate the process below 5K for normal and "spirited" driving on occation. I even think 5K is conservative in this day and age for motor engineering and the quality of synthetics.

FWIW, on both of my CT9As I changed the oil at ~800 miles. Subsequent oil changes take place between 2-3000 miles, depending. Honestly, I don't see the benefit of chancing a longer interval. It's not as if an oil change is price-prohibitive and saving $50 at the dealer isn't even worth worrying about.
