Yay! My handbrake cover popped off!

I don't know what they call it, but I have the special looking handbrake with the cover that says "Lancer Evolution."

Anyway, today I pulled it up to engage it, and it just slid right off. Yes, I use it all day every day, every time I park, and no, I don't abuse it..

And not to mention, this was with my girl friend (almost girlfriend, one word ) in the car, so it was pretty embarrassing..

So I thought whatever, I'll just ignore it for the time being and wait 'til I get home to try to screw it back in (2 screws holding it in)...so I get home, and it seems the thread stripped (on its own!)...leaving me no chance of fixing it.

Don't get the wrong idea, it still works! It's just...it slides off when I use it.

Guess I'm making a trip down to my local Mitsubishi tomorrow!

(Pics later, though it's not much to look at!)

wow what is up with the X's

you got the e-brake handle cover coming off. someone else had their gas pedal break on them and the staple on the front seats.

hopefully mitsu takes this into consideration for the next year model.

Yeah at first I was trying to ignore the whole breaking pedal and self-undoing staples, but now that I've come face-to-face with my own problem, I'm...just not so happy.

And not to mention, my dash has major rattlings. Sigh..

Sucks to hear, but that's why you never buy the first model year of a new generation of a mass-produced vehicle...

Yeah well, if everyone 'never' buys a new generation vehicle, your suggestion sort of contradicts itself.

If I'm not mistaken, its a new Corvette (C6 is the newest right?), and the roof skin came off.....probably while driving.

Yes, its a C6 without its roof skin. A few people had them come off while driving on the highway.

Yeah, it's a big issue with the ZO6.

My aero rocker panel has dropped a few cm on the one side, and no, no one's stepped on it to enter the car! My passenger recaro seat also met it's maker a few days back, I have an appointment Monday at 9 a. Big whoop, we have a few small issues, I like being a test bunny as long as it's nothing major (i.e. Corvette). This is a new car from the ground up, I expected this.

Quick Reply: Yay! My handbrake cover popped off!
