Evo X vs. modern BMW cars (All X General threads merged)

135i hands down.
it will face rape the X in the straight. dig or stop don't matter, on the highway the 135i will disappear on the X.
on the track the X might hold a candle in the corner, but if there's any straightaway wave bye bye. 135i is also lighter...but its missing an LSD.
only thing is the 135i is uglier than rotten dogsh*t, and this is where the new STi comes in.
new STi ftw.

How the hell is a non-lsd open differential rear wheel drive car that weighs almost the same as it's 335i counterpart going to "face rape" an AWD evo which makes about the same amount of power?
The 135i isn't as light as it looks. It sure as hell isn't a miata with an LS1.
The 135i and 335i can be made into highway monsters but evos can as well. The only difference is drivetrain friction loss which hardly comes into play at very high speeds (110-120+ MPH).

The 135i will destroy an Evo X from any speed. The evo will jump ahead from a stop, but will get reeled in very quickly. It weights over 100lbs less than the Evo. The 335i traps 105 in the quarter. Subtract 100lbs and 135i should be trapping 106-107 versus the X's sad 99mph. With full torque achieved at only 1800rpm, it will own an a X from a roll as well. I actually do like the look as well...not as much as the 335i, but it looks pretty aggressive. 135i FTW.
Assuming manual transmission:
335i sedan - 3594 lbs.
335i coupe - 3571 lbs.
135i coupe - 3373
Looks like about a 200lb difference. The 135i will be a beast.

Where are you guys getting this 90-100lbs difference between the 335i and 135i? According to bmwusa.com, the unladen weights are as follows:
Assuming manual transmission:
335i sedan - 3594 lbs.
335i coupe - 3571 lbs.
135i coupe - 3373
Looks like about a 200lb difference. The 135i will be a beast.

At 172 inches long and 69 inches wide, the 1-series is 8.9 inches shorter and 1.4 inches narrower than the 3-series coupe. This smaller size doesn't manifest itself in a huge weight loss, though - surprisingly, the 135i checks in at a claimed 3440 pounds, or a mere 130 pounds lighter than the 335i coupe.
They also said:
Chassis balance is one of our few complaints, as the 135i is plagued by tire-howling understeer-more so than with the 335i - a situation that's not helped by an open rear differential, a minuscule rear antiroll bar, and front tires that are narrower than those used on the rear.

Here is the info on the 135i

Finally, the 335i sedan

I guess it all depends on gas and other fluid levels. What we need is a back to back scale comparison.

Of course we are not modding them yet but think about it by just knowing cars. Aluminum block = Turbo and boost limitations. Mitsu engineers have already put a power limitation on that trans and if you did blow it up LOL good luck fixing that.
What im saying is these cars will be equally challenging to mod with there advanced electronic configurations and such. Car vs car stock for stock the BMW warrenty and engineering far surpasses that of Mitsu.
They turned the X into a comfortable, refined, sports coupe. Not the raw rally/race car that makes a Evo an Evo. If I want that refinement Ill pay the little extra for the BMW and know that if somthing goes wrong I can make 1 phone call and have a rental and a toe with out a second ?.

No, the 135i weighs about 50 lbs. more than the Evo X MR. The biggest difference is awd. This is an Evo forum, isn't it?

So the 135 is 221 lbs lighter than the MR and 144 lbs lighter than the GSR - not to mention the VERY favorable review from Grassroots about it's track car prowess. It just needs an LSD.
