I have driven the Colbalt SS that a friend got for his daughter. While not a bad vehicle, the Evo X is head and shoulders better: Stronger acceleration, better braking, better steering, S-AWD, better seats. Again, the Colbalt SS is not a bad car, but to compare the two is really apples and oranges.

Well, I need to head off the dealer in a bit to pick up my new GSR.

Not sure if you knew this, but the new one is turbocharged with brembo brakes and a bunch of other goodies. Actually it's the fastest FWD car that has lapped the nurburgring. It's time is actually faster than some older evo's!

Here comes that "AWD= the greatest" mentality again.... AWD is not the end-all answer to sports car layouts, and I can show you some front drivers that can hand you your *** on the "twisties-yo", the dragstrip, or on the street. We can go on and on about the pros and cons of both setups, but the AWD is the greatest mentality really kills me....

What about the black paint on the Evo is different/better than the black paint on the SRT?

yeah you have to hand it to chevy with the new cobalt. 260 hp, variable timing on both cams, built-in launch control and no-lift shifting FTW! AND they do really well in circuit racing.

The Phantom Black on the X is far better then the SRT version. While the SRT has flakes in it to give off that metallic tone, it's a silver flake and not as much used in comparison to the gold flake in the PBlack color.
I have the red CSRT4 and i think it looks better then the Evo X RR. The CSRT has like a blood tone, while the RREvo X's tone is more vivid.

But the black CSRT is very nice. I just would prefer the PBlack. Personally I think any type of black requires a higher upkeep.

Cobalt SS inherited the GXP/Redline engine from Pontiac+Sadrun, I mean Saturn.
Its a great car, I had the Mazdaspeed3 for a while and would have def shopped that against the Chevy...but I have a thing with true american cars...I'm just not a fan of matcing buttons in everything....and I know-the mazda was a ford, when I tore it down, thats all it said...FoMoCo.
So off topic....sorry!
