Evo X GSR vs. MR versions
Can someone help me out listing out ALL the differences between the GSR and the MR (visual and mechanical)? I've been scouring Mitsubishi's site, but its not very clear.
The oness I have so far:
Thanks!
The oness I have so far:
- Obvious: MR uses SST, whereas GSR is manual 5 speed
- MR has a chrome lining around the grill in front
- MR comes with BBS wheels, GSR has Enkei
- GSR has black vents on the side behind front wheels, MR has body colored vents (not 100% sure on this one)
- MR has leather/cloth seats, GSR has cloth/cloth
- MR has technology package as an option
Thanks!

It looks like you got the major ones. Two things you missed were that the GSR has one piece rotors and the MR has lighter two-piece rotors. And the MR gets the special bilstein dampers. Off the top of my head, those are the major differences.

^ Very important indeed! There's also some chrome trim under the side windows, a bit of leather on the door & center console storage, HID, Fast Key, large spoiler are stock (SSS in GSR), different shift knob/e-brake option, comes w/blue tooth... that's all I can think of right now

I can confirm this. While I still haven't seen an Evo X MR on the road, every one I've seen at the good ol' Mitsubishi Museum has had matching color vents. After the wheels, it's actually the most obvious physical difference, IMO.

Right, thanks. IMO, the black ones look better though, especially on the WW GSR. But then again, the BBS wheels are much cooler.

If you're looking for cheaper and faster, the GSR is your car. The MR adds a lot of refinement and would appear to offer the better daily driving package with its leather trimmed seats and sequential manual.

Most reviews show MR slower by 0.5sec, I havent seen anything that said it is within .1 sec even using the launch control. GSR does have technology package as an option.

If I recall correctly, the bilstein MR struts are valved softer than the GSR ones too. Lap times could be faster if one took the best bits off of the GSR and put it onto the MR.
I love the leather seats and arm rest of the MR though, but if you want to pork up a 2 liter car with neat stuff, you probably should just sell it as a 3 liter super car.

Anyone know what the part number is for the MR colored vent? I have a WW X and don't really like black vents now that I seen them painted.

Yeah the MR is heavier mostly because of the SST transmission. They offset the weight of the transmission somewhat by using two piece rotors and the BBS rims are lighter than the Enkie rims.
Lets not forget that the MR also has more sound deadening material than the GSR so that adds to weight also.
