Reporting In.....

Hello Guys, I just wanted to say hello. I've been checking this forum for a while trying to get as much info about the car as I could. For me it was a toss up between the Evo and the STI. I test drove both cars and both were nice, but I couldn't get over how the STI looked. I decided on the EVO, but I was still in a dilemma between which one (GSR or MR). I went with the MR. I know the GSR is lighter and quicker, but I love the little details and that Transmission. It's not you regular automatic. That things shift pretty damn quick. Even when it downshifts it blips the motor like I would if I was driving a manual. Anyway I love the car and can't wait to modify it. Hope some thing come out soon.............db

Welcome!

I debated over the STI and Evo in the early days, but I'm on my second Evo and haven't looked back. Before you know it, you won't be able to remember what life was like before the Evo.

The decision between STI and Evo used to be alot tougher. I have owned both from previous years. The differences between the two are now much more obvious in both performance and appearance. I think you went with the better performing and, imo, looking vehicle. The STI is just a little more civilized as a daily driver, but not enough so to make it worth it.

I don't think the new STI can evo compare to the X. Slower, more expensive and ugly. I think you made the right choice, although I would have gone with the GSR only because its like 11k cheaper

I hear what you are saying about the GSR. I'm a bit tired of shifting (45 year old). I've owned many cars most of them manuals. This is a different type of Automatic....db
