Daddy's car makes me move.

Out of the blue my
Daughter states: "Your car is not fast mommy"
Wife replies: "my car is fast"
Daughter: "No it's not, daddy's car is fast"
Wife: "My car is faster than daddy's"
Daughter" No it's not, daddy's car makes me move, your car doesn't"
priceless

So while this is quite pointless, it is in fact funny when you think of the circumstances.
A year and a half ago I bought a Lexus IS350. I carefull weighed my options test drove the 335i and the IS350 and decided that I wanted the IS350. My wife REALLy liked the car. How could she not. It was fast(13.2 @ 105 stock), handled decently, was quiet, and very smooth. She drove a 2005 Accord V6 at the time.
I drove the car for a year and put 110000 miles on it. I learned a little about myself with this car. I learned that smooth, quiet, and quick was boring. While it was faster than most cars on the street, it just wasn't fun to drive. No one asked me a thing about it and I recieved almost no attention with it(not that I need to).
So after 11000 miles I sold it for a small loss. The wife could not understand how I could sell such a fabulous car. "Your crazy, why did you do that" and "you're gonna buy what" started to become regular phrases in the home.
A little history:
I built and owned a 90 Eclipse GSX with a 2.3L stroker and an FP3065 turbo. The car ran 11.9 @ 117 and was daily driven. I sold this car and bought the IS350 to "grow up" become "more mature" and have a classy new platform to start with. However after 1 year there was almost nothing you could buy to substantially increase the power. I so missed connecting my laptop up to DSMlink and tuning here and there.
Fast forward a little:
I buy the Evo X. Wife likes the looks. Still thinks I"m crazy to sell the Lexus for a Mitsubishi. So what does she do...she sells her Accord V6 for a 2006 Lexus IS350.. LOL
Now, she feels on top of the world and all her co-workers and family (females) drool over her "new" car and she feels like she has the coolest baddest car around. Except no body else even bats an eye at it.
The Evo X however, it's constantly getting stares. We can't even put gas in it without one or more people asking all kinds of questions about it and saying "dude your car is bad ***" It's so bad that I didn't even make it into the mall without 5 cars circiling my Evo while it was parked and all the occupants jumping out to look at it.
Now the best part:
I have a three year old daughter. She's very much a tomboy. She absoluetely LOVES the Evo. When I corner hard she says "do it again dad". If I accelerate quickly she will have such a large grin on her face.
The other day, my wife was driving my daughter to day care. Aparently she was running behind and decided to quickly pass some cars.

Damn that is classic....Maybe it should be a new Mitsu Slogan
Oh… btw…I have 10500 miles on the Evo in 5 months and I love driving it…It is such a blast.

I thought the IS350 didn't trap over 100mph?

Awesome.
I hope my daughter is as perceptive as yours when shes a few years old. (Only two months now). Its crazy what comes out of childrens mouths.
The funniest part is that your wife cant dispute what she said....children have no agenda at that age and just say what they feel.
Just hilarious.
