How's the EVO X as a daily driver?

How many of you are using your EVO as a daily driver? What are your likes/dislikes as a daily driver?

Reason I ask is because I'm considering the EVO for you guessed it... a daily driver

It's a pretty good daily, but occasionally the seats and my back don't get along too well.

Oh and yeah, gas.

Let me save you some time:

No sixth gear, small trunk, gas mileage.

Those are the most common gripes about its practicality.

My problems with the X as a DD?

- I get immune to the POWAH, but when I take a week off driving it and come back it's like a whole new car again and the smiles return.
- the car likes to be pushed... so after 20 minutes in bumper to bumper it's like a caged cat and NEEDS to be pushed when traffic clears... and, um, ya, that might not be the best thing for your wallet and driving record!
- every SRT-4, Civic, R32 VW, and other piece of crap rev off or yell something dumb at me. I get over it

My commute is around 35 miles round trip. I get 220-240 miles to a tank of gas when I'm not using the go pedal heavily. You do the math as to how often I'm filling up.

i love driving my EVO as a DD. Im just gonna say the same thing as others have said...

Gas consumption, small trunk, rough (if your route is bumpy), no 6th gear, Engine is loud pass 70 mph...

Hope that helps.

Oh, I'll add that if mash the gas pedal, it can break off
I'm 100% with goofygrin-but as for the trunk...I try not to drive around with too much junk in there.
It fits a weeks worth of groceries okay.

The small trunk is a good thing. If it actually held a lot of stuff, the rear quarters would be dented from the inside out due to high cornering g's.

I can't keep stuff organized back there-it rolls all over itself on just about any drive I take it on. Same gripe about cup holders..wanna buy a coffee? It will be all over the place in no time.

mpg would probably be the only concern since it cost and arm and leg to fill up now.

but again i think any car can be a DD as long as you can afford it.

why is it everyone complains about 17-27mpg in a performance car???? damn you cant have your cake and eat it too. My midsize truck (nissan frontier) gets 13-20 mpg for gods sake.

the gas thing is really in peoples mind because the evo has a smaller gas tank so it needs to be filled more often often. the mpg is really decent for its weight and power and lack of a OD 6th gear.

if you can afford 30-40k for a performance vehicle you should be able to afford 91+ @ $4.30-4.90 gas on x as a DD.

I don't know about most people but having a large truck generally only accumulates junk in it, the x has plenty room for necessities.

it is a little loud (as a performance car should be).
