I am THIS close to getting an X, but I have a few questions

^Haha ok, thanks for the info. If/when I do buy snows, I'll go for quality. Anything in particular you would recommend?
And will I be happy with the Evo, given what my use and what I'm coming from?

hahahah i just ended my lease on a 2005 jeep grand cherokee V8...POS!!! wtf!! seriously after the warranty the car fell apart, water leaks, struts, exhaust piping, suspension everything..it was ****kked!! wanted a 4 or 6 cylinder AWD turbo car. basically not an sti fan..so it was TO ME, an evo x, bmw 335xi or audi a4..bmw 335xi's were too hard to find in manual n i couldn't wait till october fr the ugly new look (08 production ended), so i bought the evo x ...depends on how you drive in snow, if u want to rip past people like ur in an unstoppable tank get like blizzaks. if u are careful all-seasons should be fine..

So how do you like your Evo? Is it your dd?

Any reputable tire manufacturer's snow tire will be fine...Bridgestone, Dunlop, Michelin, etc.
Nokian's would be ideal, but not many people have $800+ for a set of snows.

The one I've been looking at at my local dealer is a WW GSR with aero, sss, navi, and sport interior package. Sticker price is a little over $40k. I was going to give them a call and ask if they wanna sell it to me for $34k, just to start low. It is an 08..
Regardless they will probably do their best to screw me on my trade in.

And I loved my Evo (I know that question wasn't for me) I had it for 3 years. If I had a 9 or a 10 I'm sure I would've kept it longer. I just couldn't live with the 8 as a DD anymore.

OK I started a separate thread to get some help figuring out my wheel/tire setups.
All help is much appreciated: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=364388
Thanks!

Congrats!
I have had both, and I prefer the Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's to the LM-25's. The Dunlops have just as much grip in ice and snow, but retain sporty handling in the dry while it's cold out. The LM-25s don't handle quite as well once the roads are plowed. The survey on TireRack's site ranks them the same way that I would (including the older Dunlop M3): http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...sp?type=W&VT=C
An Evo with a proper set of modern winter tires is some of the most fun that you can have on the street. You'll love it.
