1st ride in EVO X yesterday..
and i must say that im quite impressed with it. its def. more daily drivable like everyone says.. much more quieter.. seems like you cant feel the bumps in the road as much.. maybe due to a little softer suspension...? but man.. after that ride.. i got sooo tempted to trade my ix in. looks like the ix's r holdin some pretty good value at south coast.. 06 ix mr was goin for 35k.. with 35xxx miles on it.. wow! is all i can say. (OUR CARS WILL BE THE NEXT SUPRA!) but the new X does feel a bit more "grown up". interior feels nice.. the seats are more comfy than the standard older recaro. def. a plus in my book.. sometimes feels like im sitting on a stack of books in my car?? but from the looks of it.. the X WILL BE MY NEXT CAR.. i was sold.. it just felt a lot better.. the handling ability seemed to be better but i obviously didnt take the car to its limit or even close.. if i crashed that car.. i wouldve been effd.. but it did felt a little more tail happy.. maybe the ayc? but man.. it felt cool.. its really a totally different car from the older models.. a X would be an awesome daily car.. and my IX would be an awesome track car.. to all the guys with Xs.. this experience must be great.. LUCKY YOU! i will be joining the squad soon!!! im kinda stoked after all this.. I LOVE EVOS!!!! +100000000 for

The re-sale value of the 4g63 Evo's is insanely high. I am jealous. As my X isn't worth as much as your 4g63'd!
Can anyone tell me why the 4g63's are worth so much than the 4b11t's? I mean yes it's a discontinued engine, but its 17+\-years old! The older Evo's don't have all the goodies the X does.(SAWD,SST) Is it that the platform is still new? We all know what a 4g63 can do, but are still learning the 4b11t's.
I still want a MR-SE sitting in my garage though.

i think there are thousands of threads about the 4B11 and 4G63 debate.
the 4G63 was a proven powerhouse and people don't want to let it go. once the 4B11 starts showing more and more potential then i think the 4g's value will start to dwindle. too early right now. and first year with this platform has a lot of bugs that need to get worked out.

Good review. The main problem I think is that people spend too much time reading about the differences and decide beforehand whether or not they like the car. And most who might be interested never even make a trip to the dealer to check one out.

I fell into the disease.. I had an evo 8.. Lived in Illinois and loved it. Then I had to move to southern california, so I decided to sell the evo, and purchased a s2k.
I ended up liking the car quite a bit, but couldn't stay away.. So I went up to south coast mitsu... Drooled over the 132048239 evos they have.. Evo IV, Evo VI, Evo VIII's, IX's, X's o my.. Everything.. I have to say I liked the X, but wasn't 100% sold on it, until the test drive... Sam at South Coast isn't too shaby of a driver.. The handling on the car stock is literally ridiculous. I was sold on that, not to mention the more refinement that I surprisingly enjoyed. I thought the car was going to feel slow, and a little fat. However it didn't, just quick and sweet... So I'm back... Back in Bl....ue

The Evo X in the showroom are all locked, you can't even sit in it. Not sure how I can convince myself buying one from them.

i couldn't test drive mine until i got all the paperwork done, but at least my dealer's MRs had open doors. I first sat in one, and i was already halfway sold, so i quickly did some paper work, and next thing i knew, i already bought the car before the test drive..haha. Didn't need one since i knew it was gonna be a good buy

Welcome to the club, your going to have to fight off some 8/9 owners who are haters once in a while but you will get used to it.
Yea yea yea, Evo X Illinois crew!

I agree.....I am sure a lot of people want to test drive the car before they even consider it. But with the a-hole dealers, you can't really get to drive it first and the only resource left is from forums like these. Even then, it's not that helpful because different people look for different things.
