Engine studders almost quits when turn HID headlights on
Do any of you guys have the issue where the engine almost seems to quit for a moment (less than 1 second) when turning the HID's on. This only happens when first turning them on and only happens maybe 1/2 the time.

I would load test the battery, and make sure that the alternator is putting out what it is supposed to.
I test drove a GSR that had a dead battery on the lot. The build date on the car was in May. I don't know how long they let the car sit with a dead battery but if a battery sits around very long at or below 11.5 volts it will sulphate really bad.
I would look at getting an ADC battery charger, they all desulphate your battery on maintenance mode, and are a good investment for battery maintenance.
Norterntool.com for one carries them.
Good luck

It would cause a very short duration voltage drop down to maybe 12-13 volts. When the alternator is running (charging) the electrical system should be around 14.5 Volts + 1/2 a volt.
After that initial short period inrush spike the current drops to maybe 5-10 amps (depending on design) for each ballast then ramps down to about 3 amps each after maybe 30 seconds to 1 minute warm-up to steady state operation.
I had my car reflashed about a week ago and it still does it.
