Just look at the company the X has in that test! I wouldn't have expected the X to finish any higher. The X is associated with being one of the best performance cars around. That's a good enough result for me. Just to be associated with a Viper, a GTR, a Vette, etc... is good enough for me.

The company in that test isn't drastically different than the the cars in this test. Most of the cars are the same. Although, the R&T test did have some better cars. Plus, the Evo X finished in last place in 3 of the 4 tests and it loses badly in the overall rankings to the other cars.

Anyhow, my point about mentioning the other article was that the Evo X is NOT going to win every test it is in. Just won't happen and should not be expected. In fact, it's going to get blown away in some tests. That's just reality. Yet, there were some guys posting early in this thread claiming the Motor Trend test was BS because the Evo didn't win or didn't beat certain vehicles. Despite it being a wonderful machine, the Evo X is not the best car on the road

Right, I totally agree. I know what you're saying. The X should still smoke a Cobalt though. lol

That time on the RX-8 has to be a typo. There is no way that it ran as fast as the GTR and the R8. I just see way to many inconsistencies in this test to take any of it too seriously.

I never take these tests seriously. Lots of behind the scenes money influencing the results. Not saying that the X should have been on top...but there are a lot of inconsistent times and very subjective data.

Calm down fellas...just enjoy your cars.

The RX-8 ran a 1:50.418.

The GT-R ran a 1:40.453.

The GT-R wins by 10 seconds

Here is part 1 of the test (I didn't realize there were 3 parts to this). This gets into all the details of the their testing. People keep saying that this was all subjective. But, read through this one and you'll see quite a bit of science was used as well.

SS Cobalts are no joke. I thought about getting one before the X. I just can't deal with FWD tho.

yeah i dont know why people keep knocking the cobolt. The latest incarnation is bad ***. its _the_ best handling FWD car ever (move over integra type-r). the slalom speeds, and track times speak for themselves.

Then you don't know what handling means.....they are not perfectly correlated......

The nostalgia comes from the glorious past. You can still terrorize the tracks in an Evo VI TME - http://www.mockbites.com/articles/evo - that's a 10 year old car! and the zenith of Evo development IMO.

The current Evo needs -300lbs and +100hp and we can begin talking about Evo and 'blow everything away' in the same sentence again ;-)

And how the Evo X is better in this test when they tested already against the Viper ACR, and the viper literally killed the X every segment in the test including autoX?
not to mention the almost full race set up viper with r compound etc. is just one step a head the Mini?
