Evo X GT car in the British Championship
A race-prepared Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X with about 400 hp will debut this weekend in the Britcar 24-hour race at Silverstone. The race will mark the first time in many years Mitsubishi UK has participated in circuit racing.
The Evo is being built by ADR Motorsport, a team responsible for running the two-works Mitsubishis competing in the British Rally Championship. Mitsubishi points out that ADR also ran successful campaigns in circuit racing in the 1990s.
"This new initiative is a great opportunity for us," said Paul Brigden, General Manager for Ralliart. "Subject to the level of interest from competitors, we are also hoping to announce a one-make race-series for the Evolution X soon."
When the Evo competes at Silverstone this weekend, James Kaye, who has British Touring Car Championship experience, will be one of three drivers. The other two have yet to be named.
Mitsubishi says its entry into circuit racing will not affect its rally efforts.

Not likely. From what I've heard through the grapevine, Mitsu. NA is broke and the higher-ups at the company only care about cutting costs. They also do not care a lick about motorsports.
So unless NA gets some kind of cash infusion and a change in leadership and attitude I can't see this happening anytime soon.

As cool as rally is, the evo really is a road racing car to me and I would love to see mitsubishi get involved in circuit racing because it will only further improve the road going evos that we drive and love. Evo FTW! Go mitsu!

if it does finiish the race, that will be one great improvment for mitshubishi. And we all know/ since its proven/ the 4B11T is capable to run a 24 hr race
. It is not good enough yet or maybe ever for run 8 sec, but i hope it will be good for 24 hr
I think this is one of the reason why they run the car in the 24 hr race. To prove reliability. SInce the most part everybody is crying over the 4G63 T is gone.
ANd all those bad talks about the new engine. So i think they decide it to run in that race to improve the image for this new engine.
