I see Robevo is here defending the X as usual....
Even though Evo X could be made faster with aftermarket parts.. but Colbolt
cost 10k less!!!!
Cobolt SS Supercharged => Cobolt SS Turbo = Evolution
Evo IX => Evo X (+350lbs and 1hp) = ????????????????????????
All I hope is that Mitsu is reading this... and trying to figure out how
to shed some lbs from X....

Ya.. let me quote the article...
The only elements that kept the Mitsubishi from the 3:12 lap bracket were its power-to-weight *index—at 3650 pounds, the 291-hp Evo MR is 25 pounds heavier than the 414-hp M3

that is 3704 lb specifyed they own company... so who know what they have and what they don't in those cars...The M3 is heavier then a MR.
But that besides the point . I find more interesting things in that article. So i will share with you. Please , i know it is hard but read what was my points , according to they data.
As i discussed on other forums. some example:
"i hold the C&D in my hand....
so they dived the track for 5 section.
here is the time differences SS vs Evo
Section 1 = 0.0sec even
section2 = +0.6sec SS loose
section3 = +0.8 sec SS loose
section 4 =+0.5 sec SS loose
section 5 = -0.2 sec SS won.
So... i might be a real dummy but how the hell it won the lap 0.3 sec? Unless it flied through the straights. Would be that much faster in straights?
Please if you have the article check it and explain to me.
I am a real dummy."
"nope the evo MR won sector 3.
The SS needed 14.1 sec to go thought , the mean time the MR does it 13.3 sec , and that is on the chart.
here is the chart
http://www.caranddriver.com/content/...08+Results.pdf
out of 5 section. 3 lost for the SS and one even section. the add up time/for the 5 section/ difference is if i'm right 1.7 sec.
Which is a lot to come by for the a car is managed to won 0.3 sec overall, and the rest of the track is just as tricky like those 5 sections. Just check out the lay out of the track.
So where is the SS gain the 2 sec difference? It is huge , to make that time up ...
Straight a ways? what happened the MR ? Stalled? If the SS that much faster in straights then ,it should leave the MR in dust, At least couple car length each straight. So basically the SS should murder the X in straights. The walk by will not make it."
"you wanna hear something even more stranger about this test????
....... i know you do
so :
section 4 / take a look/
virtually is a long straight a way and UP HILL, where the SS supposedly makes up its own lost times in the turns, right? Because it is lighter fwd etc etc... that is the only explanation the 2 sec gain over the evo. It is done deal the evo is better in turns.
So strangely the evo have almost 7 mph more entry speed- 2 mph more average speed- and 1 mph exit speed advantage. So the Evo run 0.5 sec faster in this "easy" section. So if the up hill straights, dont give any advantige for the lighter , fwd car then what is?"
you can really disagree with me, and say it i'm a stupid one. but just think about it.
Not to mantion other problems you will find there.
