I had left over Thule racks from my Audi and after doing some research I went and bought the 2021 (03- Toyota Corolla) fit kit and it works really good, almost a perfect fit.

Do you ever take it off? Does it leave any scratches? I'm getting the venture paint protector put on the car and I was going to ask the guy to make some small cut outs so I can put them on the roof where the rack will sit... do you think this will keep the tie downs from scratching up the paint?

I haven't taken off the rack since I put it(3 mos). It does scratch a little on the metal part (q clips) of the rack, if you can get the paint protector do it. I dunno how deep is the scratch until I wash my car and wax it. prob if you can put an electrical tape on the q clips, it might help protect your roof from scratches.I'm going to try it when I wash my car. overall I like my car with roof,it looks more rugged. but gas mileage sucks. I'm only getting 18mpg.

^ What's the fastest you have gone in yours with the bike on and have you had to retighten it at all?

Mine has gotten lose once on the highway because my bike shop did not install it properly and seems to slip a few millimeters every time I put 2 35+ pound bikes on it.

Makes me paranoid when I'm on the highway. ;-(

18mpg is good, consider yourself lucky. I noticed it takes longer to reach the top end once i added it.

I usually drive between 70-75. I always check the rack if its tight before I put the bike and so far I don't have to tighten it. I guess 18mpg is not that bad, but it just sucks bec its like an SUV gas mileage.

Guess this thing is not for me.

I'll be selling it for $600 OBO if anyone is interested. Had it since late October.

It has 2 highrollers, locks and wind deflector. It can fit anything from a 29er to a BMX bike.

I know what you mean, I see too many riced out cars with roof racks that are just for "JDM" looks.

I am using a Yakima trunk mounted rack and I have had no issues with scratches. As long as you clean off the area where the pads rest on the trunk you shouldn't have any issues.
