Theres stage kits coming from Chevy in the near future that will put them over 300hp. Comes with a new maf sensor and a reflash to up the boost. Not a bad deal for $10,000 less than an Evo.

that's what you think. go to cobaltss.net and see for yourself. i had a cobalt before and it's the same as mitsubishi. unless you drive a regular cobalt then you get all the warranty you want.

pretty impressive for the Cobalt - embarrassing for the X!!
Regardless, it's cheap and fast, def open to upgrade paths, and has an awesome little tech interface that mimics the HVAC options in the GTR (can show you boost, inlet temp's, etc.). . .Mitsu should learn and adapt from the Cobalt, LOL!
I'll def think twice if a Cobalt pulls up next to me. . . eh, actually not, I drive an VIII and am A LOT lighter than a X.

Anyway, I thought Evos didn't run this track well. Isn't this the test the 350z beat it in? This is with all the X's new fancy awd system and all. It beat the IX MR too, I guess... Though it was a different day (and year ago). Either way. The new cobalt is lightning fast. I'm not anything but impressed. It's doing to evo's and sti's what the evo's and sti's did to m3's, 911 carreras, etc.

Let's not make this a X vs IX/VIII thread...

as impressive as the car is it still shouldnt be that close to the evo. the evo has been a time attack type car ever since its existence. whats most impressive is that this really gm's first attempt at making the cobalt into the same type of car the evo is and is this successful with it. you still shouldnt get beat by a cobalt on the drag strip tho stock vs stock. also the cobalt's potential IMO is prolly nowhere the evo, but you cant deny that it's a impressive car. i still would like to see how it fairs against the gsr
