Hey guys, I was looking at an 2010 OB X today. It had the full aero and the SSS on it PLUS the "Vishnu" package. (search you tube for vishnu evo x, first one). They claim that this Vishnu pkg will add 100 horsepower as it comes with the Vishnu Piggy-backing ecu and their exhaust...and some black rota boosts. All from the factory for $39.5K. I thought this was a pretty good price and the salesperson said they were "Flexible". I wouldn't pay this price for it, hoping more like 35-36 OTD but I wanted to know what you guys thought of the "Vishnu Package". It seems like a deal to me but I wanted some more input. Thanks!!

I went to the Younker Mitsubishi on Saturday and tried to hash it out with the dealership on a new White Evo 2010 GSR. The MSRP is $34,755 (including destination charge $750) + $1,249.99 tax + $177.25 lic + $150.00 Doc = $36,332.24. I was able to get it down to $33,000.00 sales price + $327.25 Total fee/options + $980.00 sales tax = $34,307.25 Total
I am putting $5,000 down payment and trading my 370z for $23,000. I am doing 84 months at 6.99% which will be $554.28/month. Do you think this is a good deal or can I haggle the dealership to bring the price of the Evo down? Just to let you know that this is the only 2010 Evo GSR stock left in Washington where I live.

Getting a WW GSR/SSS/Navi for invoice plus ttl, the only wicked white sss within about a 1000 miles, and only one scheduled to come in for awhile, so i paid a premium for it but i got the exact car i want.

looking at getting a WW GSR with SSS and aero, when i get back from japan. Was wondering from some of the dealers on, if I pay cash can i get a better deal? I know that a lot of dealerships are giving 0%apr right now, because of the economy and what not, but if i pay cash would i be able to get a better deal on the MSRP?
BTW i will be in DFW (texas) area around sept-oct
thanks

I'm not the biggest in-the-know of how dealers work...but they probably get a cut when they do financing....
But to be honest if you are willing to pay cash.....I would personally recommend putting all the money into a savings account(even though rates semi-suck at this point) and do the %0 for 36. B/c in the end you will make money on interest in the account and improve your credit at the same time. Just have them pull the money out of the savings account and forget about it, you will have a win-win.
Maybe some people have some other thoughts on getting deals with cash or not, but thats my 2 cents.

as far as any account making interest, the insurance cost difference between a car that is under loan, and a paid off car is way more than the 4-5% that you will get off a CD or money market account.
Dealerships only offer 0% when they are trying to dump left over stock, or they are not selling enough. In this case it is due to the economy and they are trying to get people in to buy cars. So my suspicion is that they will cut me a better deal if i buy the car outright so that they don't have to wait for the month to month payments. But that is why i am asking.

Thanks for this input, as some people do need this kind of advice...although i am not one of them. The cash i am using to pay for this i made from stock trading during the recession. I also have about 70k left to buy my wife's car and still about 55k after that for our house down payment. And as far as credit score i have an 869 and really only paying off a house is going to improve that. And my wife's credit score is only about 80 below mine.
