Did you have a trade-in?

The term OTD should only be used if you are paying cash or have 0.0% interest on your loan.
OTD = out the door, the price you pay to drive the car off the lot. I assume no one pays interest up front, right? So, let's keep it simple.

I wanna know the best OTD price someone has gotten on a SE and what % financing they got?

I'm personally struggling because SE won't be made anymore and it's a bargain compared to a MR. HOWEVER, it's winter time here in the midwest, so even if I buy one now, I can't drive it til April next year.

Its also important to know about the trade in as dealers often move numbers around. They will give you 2k more on your trade but jack the price up or give a great deal on the new car cuz they are screwing you on the trade. If you are focused on one thing like trade in, they will just give you what you want and get it back on the price of the car. "4 square" is often used to divert your attention. I love it when they say "what payment are you trying to get to?" All they do is add more years and max out the price to get you to the payment.

I have a dealership offering a 2010 SE for $31,000 + tax and tags (that price is inclusive of the current $2,000 rebate, therefore it is not eligible for the 0% 60 month financing).

This is decent compared to the $36,550 MSRP and what is likely to be a $34,xxx dealer invoice but acquiring outside financing at a lower interest rate that what the dealer can offer might be the only means of making this offer worthwhile. Any thoughts?

The $2000 rebate and 0.0% APR promotion are nothing more than a ploy to confuse you and a feeble attempt to get more money from you on the back end, depending on which one you choose.

The dealer will always try to get you to take the rebate as they stand to make more money selling you on a loan with interest.

For example:

Scenario #1, with $2000 rebate

$31,000 + 7% tax = $33,170 + 2.5% APR for 60 months = $35,321 total payments

Scenario #2, no rebate, 0.0% APR

$33,000 + 7% tax = $35,310 total

If you take the rebate, you would need to stay under 2.5% APR to achieve the same deal as 0.0% APR.

Ask them to test drive it and then tell them you're also considering the new 2011 Subaru WRX STi. Ask them, "What price can you give me to stay here and buy the car right now and not shop around?"

That's what they were telling me to try and get me to stick around. So why not use it on them.

See my next post below for the numbers.

Here are some of the numbers from my 2010 Evo X SE (number 30 of 340) that I bought in September:

MSRP: $35,790
Destination/Handling: $760
Total MSRP: $36,550

Dealer-Added Equipment and Services:
Window Tint with Lifetime Warranty: $299
Theft Deterrent Window Etch: $399
Keyless Entry Alarm: $299
Total: $997

I had got as low as $38,000 OTD with 3 year 0% APR. I was interested in the new Subaru STi, so I left and came back and they offered me $38,500 OTD with 3 year 0% APR. I took it.

So that meant the price started at $34,348 for me. I added on a few other things and the total taxable amount came to $34,747. So:

Sales Tax: $3,109.87
License: $555
Transfer Fee: $6.90
Title: $4.00
Registration Fee: $18.85
Document Fee: $498
Postage: $1.90

I also got an extended warranty, GAP coverage, and a Simoniz GlassCoat (interior and exterior).

The total damage....a bit more than I wanted to spend....

$42,174.72

That **** adds up fast! It's the first new car I've ever bought and owned.

lmao @ the postage cost...why do they even bother with that? Either include it in the fee or just leave it out.

I'm in negotiation for a 2011 WW Evo X with SS package from a well known mitsu dealer in southern california. They said their best price is 33,700 & 60 months at 1.9%. What you think, good deal???

Their website says list price is 36905 and sale price is 32999 so I dont see why i should pay more than 33. (tier 1 credit). Thanks for your input!

Is $32k OTD a great deal on a 2010 Evo SE? I know someone who got $31k OTD back in Nov but I can't find any better deals here in the midwest.

It would be better than what I got. You can see my price break down:

so you have something to compare against.

Talked them down to $35,850.

Not bad for a 2011 is what I'm hearing (did better than TRUECAR good price)

Hello everyone,

I am brand new to this forum and just thought I would say hey. After 3 days of bargaining, last Tuesday I was lucky enough to pick up a 2010 RR evo x gsr with 11 miles for 29777 out the door. It was the very last 2010 gsr they had and they were just looking to get it off their showroom floor. I was extremely happy with this deal, anyone else think I did the right thing?
