Respectfully, with the exception of the Evo, every new car I have bought before came down in price every time I left the lot. Maybe I have some magical way of "selling" the salesperson on the fact that I will buy it.

On the Evo, I had to do everything up front through e-mail and phone calls. San Antonio was unreasonable, Houston was very close, but ultimately I saved money by buying a one way plane ticket to Dallas.

As you stated, dealers believe that the 80% who leave the lot don't come back. I personally (when given the opportunity) get the best deal I can, then I leave. If they don't call me back in a few days then I'll call them. Either way, I win because if they don't sweeten the deal, then I don't go back.

Is this thread for new Evo's only? I'm looking for an '08 Evo X and all the ones I can find in the Long Island / NY dealerships they're firm at 28k.. seems steep for an 08 with 50k miles.

That is really BS and exactly what I try to avoid. I purchased my Evo from Cole Bezner from Lewisville Mitsu in NOV and he was straight up and they advertise their price on their website. I was able to get a fully loaded 11 GSR from them for $1k under invoice. The only gotcha which is minor was a $295 charge for the VIN being etched on the body panels of the car in case it was ever dismantled by a chop shop and I would get $5k over what my insurance company would pay me to purchase a new car.

I even put $0 down and they rolled tax, tint, ventureshield, etc. into my 0% 36 month loan. I wouldn't be so adamant in recommending him if things went sour, but he is a straight up dude that responds quickly and deals honestly which is a big plus in my book.

I e-mailed about 15-20 dealerships from coast to coast and the only ones that give you straights figures were Don Herring (recommended by NTEC), Lewisville Mitsu, and Southcoast (Sam/Smash). Every other dealership was a waste of time and some even responded to my e-mail about a month after my inquiry. If they learned how to respond with nonBS figures, then they could have moved an Evo off their lot. Don't understand some of these establishments Anyways glad that I got into an Evo

UPDATE:

Bill Jacobs Mitsubishi in Joliet just cut me deal. Tuesday I'm picking up my 2011 WW GSR for 4k under sticker. I'm pretty sure this was a decent deal, right? I also spent an entire day negotiating on my trade since it's upside down on the loan.

Hey, you are correct. My brother-in-law bought his blue evo 9 at Max Madsen, and he kept insisting that they'd give me the best deal. I went to Bill Jacobs first, then Max Madsen, and Bill Jacobs gave me the best deal by like 2 grand; including the additional amount they offered me for my trade-in. But yeah, for sure, we should cruise. I'll be picking up on Tuesday.

I went to the dealer yesterday (thinking about trading my 11 RA for a 12 GSR). The dealer wanted msrp so I lol and left. I told them people were getting like $3-4k off msrp.

Anyone have prices of what I can get either a base WW 11 or 12 GSR, or one with the SS package for?

I sell all my evo's to board members anywhere from $800-$1000 under invoice, depending whether I have it in stock and where I have to go to get it.

I also have a great deal on one with a sight snd sound that was in a minor accident on my front grass. It's gonna be at least 3k under invoice, it's Octane Blue. It will show on a carfax but has never been tittled. I think it has under 20 miles on it .

Copied from an email I got from a dealership. Take in mind these numbers were given before the '12 had been released (I don't think it had even been "officially" announced yet to be honest), and I was also looking for Navi, but you can subtract that. Good luck with your purchase

The MSRP for 2012 is $35305 plus $2295 for the Navi and $2100 for the Sight and Sound Package for a total of $39700.

Your True Car Price is $33848 plus $2050 for the Navi and $1869 for the Sight and Sound Package minus the extra $500 True Car Discount for a total of $37267 plus tax, tags, and processing.

Thanks guys. I got a quote for an 11 WW with the interior package for $32,500. They gave me too low for my RA so I couldn't do the deal. I'm going to try to see if I can get a good deal on a WW.

any truth to this rumor?

A local dealer tells me there may be a $2000 rebate on the 11's that should surface the 1st week of 2012. Can anyone shed some light on this? My '08 Sti is going away this week and I am in the market for new MR.
