I am so glad i got the mods to start you guys this thread to fight among yourselves over who got the better deal. You all deserve yourselves. So sad. Whats funny is that the X market is so destroyed now that a used X is not worth crap. If I were to buy a X used it would have to be priced around $21-$22k. HA ha I would pay more for a clean 9. I laugh thinking that the cars you all just bought instantly lost $10k when you drove it off the lot, even at the rock bottom prices you are getting. How does that make you all feel? I hope you plan on keeping them. I can even see the prices for a X in one more year maybe they will be going for around $16-$17k, I may pick up another as a beater since they will be so cheap.

I don't know if people would buy an X for resale value....if people wanted something to maintain it's resale value they should go buy a lexus or an acura.

Dude...just because you got raped on your Evo MR to the tune of $5K, don't hate on my deal. I spent A LOT of time and energy researching and haggling at a TON of dealers to get my Evo GSR and it is a GREAT deal. Yes 354 miles was a consideration but not much of one, due to the 770 miles I had to drive back from Nashville, TN to Virginia Beach, VA to get the thing home. All I cared about was the PRICE of the car including all of the dealer's bs charges [doc fee, dealer fee, etc..]. And my car was NEW [never before titled], and who knows if your car with 10 miles or even 50 miles was beat on for every foot of those miles. At the end of the day, I could care less. My car is going to remain STOCK, so I won't have any warranty issues [hopefully] and besides, how much power does one really need on the street with speed limits less than 60mph. Losing your life to idiocy is just that.
This is one of my major pet peeves with many people and the thing is this. Most of the questions people ask have already been asked many times BEFORE. So if you read the prior posts, then you will notice that most of your questions/comments become redundant. I have been a member here for years, and I read an ENTIRE thread before I post in it, just so I understand the entire subject that has been broched before and not one tiny aspect.

Very childish. You have comments through out this thread that are unnecessary. No one is here to argue about their deals on their evo, Im sure most people have ended up happy with their vehicles. If you feel you got a bad deal on your 354 mile evo you may want to take that out on your dealer and not out on other members.

The same goes for everyone here on Evonm. I used to sell cars for a good while, before I joined the Navy, and the ONLY thing that separates a "good" deal from a "bad" deal, is what the buyer "perceives" his deal to be. I've sold cars to people where the deal was so stripped out, I only got paid $50 on the friggin' customer survey and NOTHING on the deal at all. And the customer was still "pissed" because he/she thought they got a bad deal, when they got the best deal ever. On the flip side, I've also sold cars to "Larry's", who paid OVER sticker... got wacked, and I made $2-3K just off that one deal. And they were HAPPY, and thanked us for allowing them to buy the car from us. So in conclusion, a "good" deal is all in the eyes of the buyer, and if you think you got a good deal, don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
This thread is mean to help those members try to negotiate the best deal possible on a Evo X, regardless of their immediate location. I know it helped me to get my deal by giving me excellent reference points for who and where the best deals were. I used this info to negotiate with dealers in 10 states near me and went with what was the most feasible and cost effective deal at the time. But I am 100% certain that in a few months, the deals will be even better and you may be able to get a new Evo X fully loaded for close to 25K or even lower. However, for me, I had to weigh lower price with supply, color availability, and factory installed options. If I waited, I would be able to get a lower price, but I may not have been able to get a 2008 PB X SSS/Aero/Navi without sacrificing options, color, or increased mileage. Or I would have had to get a used one, and eat a higher interest rate and decreased warranty period.

I have no idea why you feel the need to antagonize me throughout this thread. I edited my last post out because I realized I was no longer contributing to this thread in a constructive way. I got a great deal, better even than your deal, in my opinion, because I got MORE car for the SAME money as you financed. However, at the end of the day, does it matter? Not in the least. I don't have to pay for your car and neither do you have to pay for mine.

In some respects, Scott has some good points, but the current state of the X market is not indicative or isolated to just Mitsu. The fact that Mitsu imported so many examples of a niche vehicle to the US, ahead of the worst recession in modern times, is why the X market is trash. Supply is overflowing and demand is weak, which leads to a precipitous drop in market equilibrium price. However, WHEN [not if, but when] the bull market does start again, the resale value will level off and X's will still be worth more than IX's, for certain. Any new car you purchase right now, at whatever price point, will net you a dramatic loss. At this time, one cannot safeguard any material asset against extreme losses in value due to extremely weak demand and elevated economic uncertainty.

I am interested in getting 08 Mitsubishi Evo X. Specifically a black or white GSR with SSS and aero kit. I went to my local Mitsubishi dealership today, Brien Motors in Washington to see what they have. They could only locate 2 cars for me.
1st Evo GSR:
Phantom Black
SSS, Areo Kit
Price: $38,328
Rebate: $2,000
Down Pay: $8,000
Total with license and registration: $31,000
2nd Evo GSR:
Apex Silver
SSS
Price: $35,680
Rebate: $2,000
Down Pay: $8,000
Total with license and registration: $28,680
I don't care too much about having the areo kit. But I do want the SSS. The only one is in Apex silver which I would rather have black or white. Could I get a better deal by shipping from South Coast Mitsubishi? If there are other dealers that I can a better deal please let me know.
I just want the best deal that I can get. If I can get a better deal from outside of Washington. I would like to. The only thing is that I have never shipped a car and I don't how reliable and how to even start.
Can people offer me some advise?

I think you should save yourself alot of money and go down to south ca and buy a evo from one of the dealers down there. Washington WAY overprices the evo x.... well they overprice everything actually. Anyways if you go hit up that march madness special i think the price comes to below 27k ... so with your down payment you actually pay 20k

Thanks to turbotortuga for the info on the the deals at Hallmark in Nashville. I'm on my way there now with a bank check for $27,183 for an Apex Silver GSR with SSS.
Call Tom Shafer there. . . he is a great salesman and was very helpful.
Wish me luck on my 11 hour drive home!
