Can you offer me any links where I can point these guys that will help me get them to move on a tighter deal? I found daytonamitsubishi.com but all their prices are with rebates and incentives.. so that's where the price came from.. the price after taking off all the incentives.

Ultimately, I don't think I can get these guys to go lower unless I can show them I can get it somewhere else cheaper and so far this is the cheapest I've found online.

The best thing to do would be to employ a version of the "fax attack" where you list your "wants" and fax it out to all dealers within an acceptable radius. Don't mention what you expect to pay, make them do a blind auction to earn your business...

Here is what lewisville mitsu told me via email....

For a EVO X Navi, SSS, and aero.

""Alright so with the car exactly how you want it. We would be selling it for:
$36,000 + TTL & Sec Gaurd
= $38,814.68 total amount finnaced
with $10,000 down @48 mon - $600 and @60 mon - $480
with $15,000 down @48 mon - $496 and @60 mon - $396

So let me know what you ""

And I said

36k is after the 2k rebates and incentives? and is that the best price you people at lewisville can do?

and his follow up

Yes you can't get the rebate and 0%. It's one or the other. The invoice on the car is $37000 we are losing a $1000 to sell it. If that's not good enough than I don't know what to tell you.

What a joke, dealers still think people believe that invoice is what they actually pay for a car?

What's the sticker on the car, about $40K? You should get at least 6K off w/0% or 8K w/o. Time to look at another dealer IMO.

That's a bad deal. The going prices for the past month or two has been to get around $7000 under MSRP if you take the 0% and close to $9000 under MSRP if you take the $2000 cash back.

Keep pushing them. Do more research and start looking at other dealers in your state and even out of state. There are better offers out there.

Good luck.

I did at first and they ignored me and acted like i was not even in there after about 30 min one guy finally came to me knowing nothing about the car. all he apparently knew was the "msrp" and tried to say things like these cars are so rare and the fastest cars etc etc blah blah and that they are worth over 40k and i just left.

Good for you; those prices they're asking for are ridiculous, and I'm sure they know it.

As other posters have said, 7-8k off MSRP is pretty much the minimum, assuming you don't go for the 0% financing.

As the 2010 models start to come in, I am sure they will start to get very desperate to unload their 2008 models (especially to make room for the 2010 models, and also because it'd look absurd trying to sell 2010 models when you have 2008 models still in your showroom/lot).

my local dealer is giving CRAZY incentives on the evo x right now.

when all is said and done, i can get it for 26k 0% financing.

i'm going this weekend to test drive one and see if i like it. i'm just not sure if i want the 100$ increase in my monthly payments & my 160$ every 6/mo increase with my insurance.

it's a tough call!

If that's for a base GSR, that's just about right. $7k under MSRP with the 0% is the going price these days and $26k is exactly that.

If it's got any options on it, than that is a very good deal
