A got a quote for 31.5K OTD for a GSR w/ SSS+Aero... after waiting a week, I called again cuz I decided I was going to take it... too late, Fairfield said their prices went back up... price was now close to 33K OTD. They said they only had 4 left and would not give the special price anymore.

Who knows, maybe Serramonte will change their minds like Fairfield next week? Once they get rid of some of the Evos, they might change their pricing again and get it back up for some profit. Opportunity sometimes knocks only once. You don't wanna miss that.
Yeah good point. I kinda wanna get it before the end of the month. You'll never know what Mitsu has in store for the month of June. I think the month of March & April were the best months getting the car. I missed out....

i'm planning on picking one up soon and a friend of mine told me to wait till right before the end of the month. it seems the price will be dropping on all 08 models soon. they need to get rid of them to bring in the 2010 models.

I know South Coast still has a lot of Evo X's because they basically bought all the remaining ones that were imported to the States. I know their current pricing isn't the best but I'm willing to take the gamble once the 2010 X's hit the lots.

I'm shooting for a base MR for $30k before TTL and with 0%, please make it happen Mitsu Gods (or kind and generous dealers ).

LOL, I don't think there are any "kind & generous" dealers, there's only dealers with a professional attitude. Unfortunately, a lot of Mitsu dealer have the wrong attittude (not all of them though). There's only one reason why they exist, to make a profit. Sometimes, when the times are tough and no one is buying cars, they are willing to sacrifice and take a bit of a loss... that's when they discount them heavily just to get them off their lots. If you have the right instincts (as an opportunistic buyer), and you see a great deal like that, you take it! Trust me, it may not last long.

southcoast vs serramonte

GSR SSS

MSRP via edmunds.com $35,685
Serramonte $37,679 has $2,000 mark-up. But with $8,000 discount, it comes out as $31,678

South Coast Smash price GSR SSS RR $29,999 with 0%
South Coast Smah price GSR SSS [any other color] $31,429 with 0%

Looks like South Coast is still smashing

Uhmmm, Serramonte DOES NOT mark up their Evos. What you see on the sticker, you subtract their special discount. Which sales rep did you talk to? Look for Patrick.

The GSR SSS that you said is priced for $37,679 HAS the aero kit or Nav/Tech($2,000 option). I know for sure cuz the GSR+SSS I bought there was the last one they had with no Aero kit/Nav. I got it for $27,650 + TTL + 0% APR. That's close to $2,350 cheaper than Southcoast.

So basically, if you buy from Serramonte, you get GSR+SSS+Aero for $320 cheaper than a GSR+SSS (no Aero) from Southcoast. Take your pick :-) They also have 2 blues left if you don't like red (and a silver if that wasn't an MR).

I'm looking at pricing on MR's. One thing im seeing that is confusing the hell out of me is the price difference between colors. I recall when the 2008's just came out, there was about a $1500 premium if you wanted the car in Phantom Black. But looking around now, the blacks are all $2000 LESS than the Rally Red's! Why is this? I really like the red, but not for an extra $2k. Has anyone managed to get a red at the price of another color?

I havent talked to anyone, yet. But I based my numbers from Serramonte's website. I guess their website prices are wayyy higher than their actual sticker price?!

thanks!

The website doesn't reflect their current clearance pricing. Best way to find out for sure is to call them. Their low prices are firm, none of that haggling BS back & forth crap. Just make sure you have a good credit standing/score and everything will be straightforward. Banks are really strict nowadays.

I feel better now. I thought I was the only one being tortured like this

It was the same reason why I didnt jump on 08 STi deal back in November.

I know how it feels... my itch for an Evo practically started bout 4 years ago. Went to a Mitsu dealer to check out an SUV which we needed back then (the Endeavor), then behold... I saw a brand-new Red IX MR on the showroom floor. I thought the car was pure sex. LOL, when I asked the price, they were marking it up over MSRP, was like $40K before TTL (and interest rates were like 6% and up). No way we could afford it, and our priority was an SUV.

Fast forward today, finally got my own little Red Evo with a much sexier & mature bodystyle. And at a steal price! I look forward driving her everyday. The joy of stepping on that gas, hearing the turbo spool up, and getting pushed back to the seat... life can't get much better than this muwahahaha.

CAN'T RESIST THIS... TEMPTATION.

Add me to the torture list (for EVOs right now and for the STi deal back in Nov/Dec), except for me it's because I can't sell this damn RS6 for a decent price.
