I'm wondering the same thing. Invoice is about $36.1k. Mitsu gives the dealer $2k for the sale. Another $1k in bonuses, plus 0% (or $3k at 2.9%). That should let them move the things for $33.1k at 0%, or $31.1k at 2.9% (plus TTT). Yet the best I'm seeing is $32.3k plus TTT at 2.9%. That means the dealer is holding on to $1.2k. They don't work for free, but we're coming on 2010 models. Looks like there's room to get it lower

My goal is pretty straight forward: Rally Red MR, no options at $375/month for 60mo @ 0% (after TTT), with $3k down, and my low-mile loaded 2004 Ralliart as trade-in. Figuring they should be able to get $10k on my trade (kbb says over $11k, cheapest on autotrader close to my year/color/miles by PP is over $10k), it doesn't seem like too much to ask. After moving the trade, they'll be over $3k in the green.

Edit: all that said, what do you guys think will happen once more news of the 2010's starts coming out? More factory to dealer rebates? There's still tons of MR's out there and no one's tripping over themselves to snag them.

Doubt you can get $10K for your Ralliart, you can find 04 lancer ralliarts here in craigslist for $6K (private party) with low miles (around 40K). Probably best you could hope for is $5K for a tradein.

still can't believe then I told them I would put it under my parents name they said it probably won't be able to process the credit either way at 0% because of the same last name I hate stealerships
If you read my whole ordeal regarding the yo yo scam a dealership pulled on me, you will know that they are lying to you with that line. They told me Mitsubishi financing doesn't like to see siblings cosigning for each other .

It's all just absolute bull****. Big thumbs down to Mitsubishi sales.

Musta been a base wagon. Just look at sedan's, add SSS, consider condition/miles/color, and $7k-8k isn't asking much from a dealer. Them getting $10k isn't bad considering they carry over the reminding 50-60k miles on the warranty where PP doesn't. Regardless...

Sounds like 8k off MSRP to me... but did you get 0% APR on top of that? I'd be extremely happy to find an 8k off MSRP + 0% APR deal.

no i doubt anyone can get 0 percent on top of that around here. MRs are almost gone. I got 4.99 , you cant get special apr's and rebates together.. mitsu does not allow. I qualified for 1.99 instead i got 2500 rebate..and 4.99 from third party i put down a lot from my first car which was totaled so does not affect my monthly payments a lot..I bought it at JBA at Glen Burnie i doubt that they may have other EVO's but give them a call...

LOL you're better off waiting for the 2010 model. You'll pay less for a brand new Evo with SSS.

Go ahead give it a try, I'd be happy for you if you can get that much for your trade. Just letting you know that no dealer is giving "top dollar" for trade right now that we are in this economic slump... go to edmunds and check the trade in fair value of your car, subtract like about two Gs and that's what they will offer you. Color won't matter for sure. Trust me, when I got my X, I scouted 3 dealerships and had them assess my trade, it wasn't pretty (compared to what edmunds was telling me).

On the bright side, my $1.5K loss for the trade was offset by an $8.5k discount (loyalty rebate included) & zero APR on my new X... so yeah, I still came out way ahead. :-)

you know the sad part is that a used evo IX with relatively low miles and in good condition is fetching roughly the same or just slightly less than a used evo X, at least right now

For a dealer trade or private party sell? I have no idea about how much a used IX would value in a trade these days compared to selling it privately. But I do see on craigslist used (private party) IX MRs w/ around 30K miles for around $20K (in california). Used X GSRs from private party are at least $25K and above.
