Stock GTR vs 350 WHP EVO X with KW V3
I'm sure lot of you wonder how a tuned EVO X would measure up to a stock GTR. On a short track like Streets of Willow, it's pretty close. I think GTR might be a little bit faster, but not enough to declare a clear winner.
On a long a track, unfortunately, the GTR is much faster. The best I was able to run in Buttom willow was 2:03:xx, and the stock GTR runs under 2:00:00 (according to my friend with similar driving skills). I'll taking it to Buttonwillow sometime this month, so I'll keep you guys updated.
My EVO X that I sold recently had ETS Intercooler, IC Pipes, Intake, test Pipe, exhaust, a tune, KW V3, and 285 Kumho V710 Slicks.
I was really bumbed when I sold my EVO X to Mike at AFI Turbo, since I've spent so much money and time to make it a perfect track car.
I really loved driving this car, and this thing was a track monster. I had KW V3, 285/30/18 Kumho V710 Slicks with NTO3 Wheels and tuned to 350 whp by Road Race Engineering:
I've ran:
Streets of Willow Full course C: 1:25.8
Big Willow: 1:34
Cal Speedway Interior: 1:15:5
Button Willow 13c: 2:03
I picked up my GTR last Friday, and I took it to Streets of Willow on Saturday and Sunday: The car ran 1:25.55 WOW!!! This thing is ridiculously fast stock.

Here is a picture of me taking the GT3 to school.
I'm tracking this car to Cal Speedway Interior Road course this weekend, and hoping to run 1:14.
After this track event, I'm sending my ECU to Mines to get their 540 WHP reflash. And hopefully, my KW Clubsports coilover will be installed pretty soon. Anyways, enough bragging, but I just love this car.
And here is a picture of my Specboxter. It ran 1:28 at SOW with just 150 whp.

Yeah that evo x you sold looked awesome. It's a shame you sold it. But hey I guess you didn't down grade though with the GTR. I would love to own either of those cars. Get me a job where you work, I want a GTR also lol
Glad to hear you like the gtr though. Keep up the good work on those tracks.

It does bog if you're running on a normal mode, and there is some shift shock when cars goes into first gear. Other than that, it's really comfortable. It has lot of road noise from the tires.
The seats are super comfortable, and it has so many gadgets that will keep you entertained for a while.

yea i love the new gtr i was just wondering about that. I wish someone would take me around in one haha. They sound really nice and they really take off when you step on the gas. Ah and i used to think my evo was fast haha.
so which do you like as a better track car. I mean im sure the gtr is amazing but how is it around a short track with really tight corners?

The GTR is pretty damn amazing stock posting essentially the same time as your X on slicks. But the time your X posted also shows how capable it is with some choice mods.
With the GTR, I would just never launch it. I've never launched my Evo and don't see any reason to.
