Getting dynoed tomorrow -- Any guesses as to what I'll put down?

First time ever dynoing a car. I'm excited but nervous at the same time!

Mustang Dyno

My mods that will impact it:
- UR full TBE with ceramic HFC
- AEM intake box
- both factory reflashes

Not a lot

It looks like stock GSRs are dynoing around 220 on a Mustang dyno (so around 25% drivetrain loss).

UR lists (from a Dynojet, so the numbers are high) these numbers with their intake, o2 housing, test pipe and exhaust:
Max Horsepower: 322.42 whp
Max Torque: 330.24 ft.lbs

My guess is that you'll put down somewhere around 300-310whp and 315-320 tq.

Factory reflashes won't really play much into your outcome.

Edit...sorry, thought you meant TUNED. I'll change my guess to about 260-270whp and about the same torque.

I didn't want to say anything when I first read your response

My vote's in the same bucket as yours, somewhere 260-270. Who knows, maybe it'll be chilly and it'll help lean it out a bit

Edit... A buddy just dyno'ed last weekend at 299 awhp @ 20# (319 @25#) on the same dyno with his tuned IX. From a 60 pull we're pretty even (he pulls a bit). Who knows... closed road pulls are so much driver influenced.

gl on the pulls-the few times I dyno'd mine-I wasnt that impressed with what the numbers were vs what it "felt like" aka butt dyno. The C55 I'm in now pulls so much harder then my X did-and they were very close to final numbers-let us know what happens!
Like the new pic!

I know that feeling. The boost rush certainly makes it feel like a lot more than it is. From a stock # to stock # perspective, tooling around town in a 335i, G35 and the Evo are totally different feelings and they are all "roughly" the same peak hp.

The new avatar is from a series I took (with my phone!) while scoping out places for the NTEC (North Texas Evos Club) Fall Picnic.

Dallas is in N. Texas for one. As is BoneDaddy's. Plus about 20 Evo owners that are like a great big family and a couple pretty good dealers. Check out the South forum sometime to see all the stuff we've got going on

Don't knock Kansas... W. Kansas has more hills than E. Colorado (drive I-70 sometime!).

It's just a Blackberry Curve. The big deal is the lighting. It was very early in the morning... what is it they say, the best lighting is dawn and dusk. I believe it.

You know, if all I ever did was drive around the street, then a heavy car with great grunt (M45, 335i, M3, M5, C55, C63) would definitely be on my short list. But, I'll tell you, a nimble, high revving car certainly has it's fun points!

Hmm... I'm going to Gotham, so we'll see.

That 267 number looks awfully suspect considering that that's only a 8.3% drivetrain loss!

But I'm not going to complain

And if you ever need someone to come to Eagles Canyon with you, just give me a ring, text, PM, whatever!

Are you going to the TDE event in December out at MSR?

I say you get a flat on the way and dont make it. Seriously hopefully you will be in the 260-270 range. I'm sure you will update us on results!

Actually I'm coming down with a cold and that might make me not make it.

I will definitely update either way

Well I'm back and I'm sure that you all have been breathlessly waiting to see what I pulled.

There are losers and winners... I was a loser

Thats pretty darn good! Mine feels like it runs like a gorilla compared to stock.
Since no one around here tunes these things hopefully i can get my paws on an Access Port soon.

A good friend of mine owns JoeTech Racing and knows how to tune but no one has really come foward to convince him to buy the software for an EVO.

He has done a bunch of GTRs already.

You need to talk to KevinD. He has the cable already just needs the software to tune the X's.
