Evo X vs M3
#107
Ok so update on the ISS Performance Evo X vs ISS Performance M3 (Stock)
Ok so I am not claiming that the M3 will always be faster the then the Evo but for now it has shown that it is an incredible car. The traction control in the M3 is out of this world and the torque curve helps it kill as it comes out of the corners, making it a more forgiving car to drive. The Evo is just sitting on a pair of Eiback springs so all it really has is 340 WHP. We will try this out again with a pair of coil overs and a good pair of sway bars.
More to come

..
I would assume an E92 m3 would be as faster or faster than an evo in the corners anyway

Shoulda found this thing more than a year ago!
I was at my very first HPDE, first time ever on or at a race track, and there was another novice in his E92 M3. Nice car. 414BHP btw. Sick for power, a nice pretty and quick car.
However, I'd say the noob and me were pretty comparable in driving skill and *****. I was running a BRAND new set of Z1's to replace my A13's, and had just put on a TBE the prior week - sorry ECU, not tuned, just louder and a bit better spool.
That M3 NEVER passed me. Matter of fact, by the time I learned to drive, quicker than the other boy, I was able to lap him in 15 minutes by the end of the weekend. The X is just that much better of a car, it makes the driver better, as soon as they get in. Over time, with perfect balance and *****, sure, the M3 might have more muscle and muscle, but "faster" isn't always the muscle, it's how well its able to be laid down on the asphalt.

also different drivers make it a completely moot comparison. and the muscle thing doesnt make sense. no offense to you at all.

im coming from en e92 m3 to a evo ix.
e92 is so far the best car i have driven. as a overall, it is the most well balanced car out there. performance, quality, comfort, looks, utility. its all great. the v8 s65 engine pulling to 8.4k is a sensation you rarely get in any vehicle, and combine this with the sound and its goosebumps material. i could be speaking about the car for ever. unfortunately i had to get rid of it because i needed the cash, but in the future, if i have the money again, it will be one tough choice between the m3 and the gtr..performance and explusivity is on gtr side, but everything else m3 is the winner...
now, regarding evo x, i have never driven one of these. I sat inside, quality of the x is not bad, but it is miles away from an m3.. regarding the performance, i can tell you that the evo ix i currently have is more fun to drive (unless you know how to drift...in that case en m3 is a hell of fun also). a properly modded evo though, is one of the most fun cars you can buy. even though gas consumption is bad on an evo (believe or not an e92 m3 is more economical if you drive normal), evo is still a good overall car, it has a boot, rear seats, 4 doors, space for 5.
i would say the conclusion is:
want fun? evo.
want everything else? m3.

i gotta be honest, i think that's a terrible analysis. im willing to bet that it actually made you a worse driver. faster cars are harder to drive, esp rwd. a semi-novice used to driving a rwd car can drive an awd car with ease. reverse that and i guarantee the semi-novice will spin out if he has the ***** to push hard enough. 4wd is simply safer and easier to drive, and easier to drive quickly. you need a lot more throttle control with a rwd car.
also different drivers make it a completely moot comparison. and the muscle thing doesnt make sense. no offense to you at all.

Have you an X? The OP question was how well the X would hold up against an M3, so I have some data. It's hard to do apples to apples without swapping seats and putting transponders on, so if you have that, share. I'm just sharing the info I got.
