He seems to be in Canada. Much depends on one's location.
Honestly, I can't fathom how some spend as much on insurance as their monthly payment, sometimes more. You guys could be living in your own houses, instead of shacking up with mom and dad, for this kind of money. Aren't there other cars to buy?

I'm currently 24, bought my GG X when i was 23 back in september of 2009.
hmm my secret? graduate from college with an Engineering Degree, demand to be paid enough for my profession and work my *** off. I'm currently paying about 600 per month for the evo and 180 per month for insurance. Put on top of that i've dropped about 5k into the car within the last 4 months in mods....
and yes i do live on my own completely... i pay rent, utilities (split between 2 other roommates), put away a decent amount to a savings account and i still have spending money to go out n drink every other weekend =) I guess i'm blessed?

25 years old...bought a '10 GSR last week!
Living in Toronto (yeah...high insurance rates here, but what can ya do?!)
Same situation as LiQuIdCrAzN - graduated from engineering, landed a great job, living in a condo downtown Toronto, go out most weekends for a good time and make payments on my baby!
