Thoughts on going from BMW 335i coupe to EV0 X???
Just wondering your thoughts on going from a loaded 08 BMW 335i coupe to an Evo X. I have always wanted an Evo (I have been a member on here for quite a while but never posted) but have now gotten used to some of the perks of the Bmw.
Would you change from a BMW 335 to Evo? Would you change from a Evo to 335?
What should I be aware of in terms of differences (creaks, rattles, rough ride, missing features, etc)?
Also, I do a decent amount of commuting so I had gotten my 335 in Auto with the paddle shifters, do you think a MR would be a better option than the GSR? I have always driven std in the past but auto has been kind of a nice option for traffic!
I drove a GSR yesterday and was pretty impressed. The seats did, however, seem like they might be a bit of a pain in the *** to get in and out of constantly. How are they as daily drivers?
Here is the link to my car so you can get a feel of what I currently have:

Depends on what you want the car for..
Evo X is a great track car.. commuter.. Not so much IMO, anyway, RPMs were really high going like 75mph if I recall. That said, I'm not sure about the MR, but it'll definitely be better
And if you do wait for the 09.. You may have to deal with a lot of little bugs in the 08 like some of us have.
But really with evos I think it's a waste if you're not planning to really use it

i also wonder long-term how well the evos hold up to the way most of them are driven. Like in 60,000 miles where will they be? BMW might be a better choice if you plan to hold onto to it for a while, though maintenance will be more expensive as it always is with german cars.

Sup Steve! Just responded. Wow you guys are quick with the responses! I am thinking about trading my 335 for an Evo (assume my lease/I buy your car). Let me know if there is any interest. I would want the sss package.
What other feedback do you guys have for me?

they refer to it as the 335i Convertible on bmwusa.com - i believe the badge on the back of the convertibles (E93) still just say 335i (unless its AWD, then its 335xi). the 330ci and 330cic died with the E46 body style.

its easy to get to about 400whp (a little more depending on gas) with the 335i, but since there are no aftermarket turbo solutions for the N54 motor, no one has really been able to get to the 450ish whp mark the last time i checked. the evo X can make 450whp with a 35R on pump so i'd say for NOW (not forever) the evo has more potential than the 335i (until turbo kits for the N54 are released).

I think your situation is also very relevant here... You're leasing that car, and you're paying a lot of money to do it.
Get rid of that thing, and go get an EVO X for 0% (it'd have to be GSR). You'll own the car, and your payment will be significantly less.

before jumping the deal, just test drive an evo X and see if it is the car you want. Just admiring it from a distance without owning it is different from actually driving it home. if luxury is your thing, it will not deliver(evo X). if owning an evo is what you want and be in the elite few who wants this vehicle, that is one good reason, too. if getting out of the lease is what you want, it will still be cheaper to keep the 335i vs buying a new X.

If you are "doing too much commuting to enjoy the 335" as it says in your post on the other forum, then you will probably like the EvoX less than the 335i. It's more of a windy road car than a set the cruise control on the highway car.
