23K out the door for X
#31
Yeah - already there are some crazy prices. If I didn't have my money invested and subsequently depreciated right now, I'd snap up a nice car. Relatives have a car dealership, so I got to look at a dealer auction website and there were 2005 audi s4's with about 25-30k miles for 18500, 2007 rs4's with 18k miles for 40500, and a couple of X's with under 20k miles for around 24000. It's only going to get more interesting...

I dont think you guys really understand the price I am getting. 23K out the door is after taxes and destination etc...so the price before all that is around 19.8K. The invoice price for a GSR w/ Navi and SSS is around 35K before taxes, title destination etc. My Mazda is worth 6K trade in and needs a lot of work before they can actually sell it.
So 35K - 6K = 29K(pre-tax price) - 19.8K(pre-tax price) = 9.2K below invoice and then you add the savings of taxes if you pay 29K as oppose to 19.8K you have a difference of about another $400. Then throw in 0 down and 0% financing and putting away the money in a 3% savings account, I save another 1K conservatively. 1K+400+9.2K = 10.6 in total savings.
I wasnt willing to pay a penny over 23K when I started half heartedly looking for a X because i did not think I would get anywhere near this price. But just so happens the second dealer that I came across actually gave me this number.
The problem here is they dont have the color I want(WW). I might go to a few dealerships that have WW and see if they can match or do better. I hope to have signed my contract by Saturday.
I know a lot of you guys want to know the dealership etc...but as you know this deal seems a little too good to be true. After I actually sign the contract and have the car I'll let you guys know that its for real and where the dealership is.
