My point with the STi is that they'll make anything if they think it will sell. 6-cyl Eclipse, e.g. The rally argument is all good and well, but the 4g63 is done anyway, and I don't really think that Mitsu cares much about WRC anymore, sadly.

The point is that they make a 2.5l STi, and it's sold in great numbers. It's nothing about being amerocentric. It's about what's available.

And that the WRC 2l rules don't apply to the free market.

nobody cares WRC any more, finally.
They basically almost destroyed the rally scene.

But the Rally fans and the scene is too strong around the WORLD, so here is the new one , besides the individual country's rally championships...

it kinda does right now auto industries arent doing to good, what kind of money would mitsu go through to make 2 separate engines at this point they would be taking a big risk... not to mention how the market might or might not react to it

I've lived outside the USA for a decent part of my life, and I'm fully aware of what's available in other countries. In fact, seeing the euro-market WRX before it was available in the US is what go me into the whole interest in these type of cars.

But living in the US, we are limited to what is sold and legal here. The bottom line is that companies will put heritage in the rubbish bin if they think that they'll move more product. Especially now more than ever!
