Crap...the roof bulb fell into the headliner

i was changing out the bulb that turns on when you open the door (the festoon bulb), but while i was changing it, i pushed it inwards to pop it loose, and it rolled into the headliner. from the sound of it, it's lodged into the passenger side...is there a way to retrieve it without taking apart the entire headliner?

and what the hell! why is there a huge hole behind the housing!? that's the first time i've seen it!

Lol, that sucks. That sounds like something that would happen to me . As far as help goes, try taking the plastic assembly that houses the bulbs out of the headliner, then lightly tap the headliner behind the bulb to try and jiggle it towards the opening where the housing used to be. Should just drop right out. If that doesn't work, take it to the dealer and bite the bullet. Good luck.

nah. it's my tradition to change out the festoon bulb for some high-output led ones whenever i get a new car.

i already tried taking out the housing and see if i can get it. but you know how the roof liner is curved downwards? yeah...i don't see a way to get it out.

...maybe if i drive really fast, brake hard, and make the bulb fall down the a-pillar...

Can you use one of those anntena like magnet extender thingys you can buy at autozone for like 5 bucks. I don't know if the end of the light (metal part) will be attrated to a magnet. Worth a shot.
