Common place for boost leaks on the X

Just wondering where are the most common places to have boost leaks on the EVO X GSR? I think I might have one. I just flashed my ECU with stage 1 93 octane COBB AP tune and I cant really feel any power gain. My car runs smoother but thats all. When it was on the stock tune when I first bought the car it seemed to have more power. One day out of nowhere the power didnt seem to come on smooth and it seems like it could be loosing pressure somewhere. I thought it was just the rich factory tune so I got the AP. Like I stated before it smoothed things out a bit but no real power increase like so many EVO X owners are expirencing with the Cobb AP.

What mods do you have?

I've seen the UICP pop off at the track, so I would check there and tighten the 5 worm clamps that hold it on. Then check them again in a day or two since they will loosen a bit more over time.

Have you done a boost leak test? Have you gone over all the clamps to make sure there tight since mitsu doesn't like to tighten them?

I took a look at them didnt seem to be loose but obviously i cant see if its loose unless its under pressure, so when I get home I will tighten the crap outt of them. Just to be sure the UICP you are talking about with the worm clamps are the black mesh material pipes correct? Im stock except for the Cobb AP tune. I have also noticed that I kinda get like that compressor surge sound under light load when I let off the gas.

How would I go about a boost leak test?

The surging sound is normal at light load/throttle. It'll happen on almost every turbo car. It's just light surge and isn't going to hurt anything. And yes, the UICP is top pipe with the mesh looking hoses running from the back of the engine to the front.

Aside from checking for boost leaks, you might want to get it dyno'd (with & without AP) just to see what you are making. You might also want to ask the dyno operator what other Evos are making to compare your results.
