Either way, until there is official release from Mitsu, there ISNT an 2000USD cash rebate. PERIOD[/QUOTE]

Okay....I contacted Sam at South Coast and then called my dealers back today.

The rebate is real. Not all dealers know about it yet and it won't be posted for a week or so, but it's the real thing.

Free money is always good, especially in this economy. But 0% APRs are getting very very hard to get, seems like even if you have the credit rating, they are examining your credit record with a fine toothed comb and hitting you for even the smallest of things. Not that I blame them, though, just don't expect it's going to be easy to get the 0% financing.

Good info... I was planning on going in and trying to haggle it as low as I can and then deal with trying to get 0.0% financing.

I can pretty much buy a brand new one without a loan, but I wanted to take advantage of 0.0% if possible. Although I CAN buy it out-right, I'd really rather not. Do you think it's feasible to say "I want 0.0% (I have a credit rating nearing 800 according to the 3 reports), tell me the lowest down payment I can make and still get 0.0%?"

I figure worst they can say is something absurd like "$31,668 down payment, and we'll finance the remaining $0.00 balance at 0.0%"

Here's some more haggling ammunition for y'all: I just purchased a new 2008 Evo X GSR from a dealer for $28,600. That price included a 6 year/100,000 mile platinum bumper-to-bumper warranty, tax title and license, and an extra set of floor mats. The car had 500 miles on the odometer because it gave demo rides with salesmen, but it is still considered brand new with the full warranty. It came with no options or packages, which was exactly what I wanted. PM me if you would like the dealer's contact info. I can't guarantee that you'll get the same deal, but it's worth a shot.

Tom, was that at 0% APR? I think I'd want SSS + Aero, so I'd probably be looking at about $32k OTD (hopefully with 0% APR if that's what you ended up with)

I really want an evo x, i guess i'll jus wait for the '10 to come out. one person mentioned that they're selling @ invoice but as soon as your back bumper leaves the property is depriciates drastically. f dat. i'll wait. And hopefully for the '10's, the QUALITY issues have been resolved somewhat.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. First production for the new generation, combined with many, many months on the lot and it's an almost 2 year old model if compared to the rest of the Mitsubishi line-up.

It really isn't incentive enough for most (which is why they're still sitting).

I was playing several dealers against each other and didn't qualify for the 0% supposedly because I had multiple credit applications pending. So this one dealer lowered the price such that, even at 4.9% APR, my total payments with interest over 5 years will equal $32K. So you could say I'm getting a $32K car at 0% although all the paperwork says $28,600 financed for 60 months at 4.9%. No other dealer I talked with was willing to even come close to that.

Supposedly this dealer has "elite" status and can get great deals for anybody. PM me if you want his contact info.
