New $2,000 rebate 2/20/09
I heard that Mitsubishi is offering a $2,000 rebate on Evolution X GSRs and MRs. Unfortunately, you can't get 0% financing with the rebate; it's one or the other. That means that you need under a 4.0% interest rate on a base GSR to make the rebate attractive. Or if you have a low credit rating the rebate is VERY nice. For me, it doesn't help one bit!
Certainly I'm not the first to hear of this. Thoughts?

It is certainly attractive. I don't think I could be eligible for 0% APR. I don't know what tactic to use to get the best deal from the dealer. I have been doing some planning to see if I can get an Evo this year. Do you know if the offer is possibly country-wide?

Here's all the currently published national offers.

The $2000 cash must be either a regional/local incentive or a dealer cash incentive which wouldn't be published.

People should jump on this deal because they won't make the same mistake twice (over-saturating a model in a bad economic time). 2010's won't be marked down at fire-sale prices because there won't be as nearly as many to pick from.

NO rebate from Mitsubishi at this time, folks.
Some ad was probably spotted and it's likely to be a lie. Currently the best you'll do on a loaded GSR is just below 36K or maybe 35.5K.
Until there's a real rebate (If ever) that will be the price.
If that's the case I will wait for the 2010. No way would I pay 1K under invoice for a car that's already depreciated 3K by being a year old.

My local dealer sent me what looked like a W2/tax form in the mail (jerks... its tax season and I filed already.... thought I missed something). Turns out it was just a 'fake' bill of what you COULD save on payments if you trade in your used mitsu for a new one with all the current incentives.
It claimed $2k off 'Lancers', but I think that excluded evos. Another nice bonus was $1000 if you trade in another mitsu, on top of existing $500 loyalty. There were some other stipulation, but I dont recall the details. Thats the kinda thinking that would keep people with Mitsu instead of jumping over to a 370z or 135i! Anyone else get this?
It was actually sent my gf for her 2006 Endevour, not my 04 ralliart, so I dunno if it'd apply to anything else.... and I tossed it already
