Hernando fl, mitsubishi lied to me about my new car
Hi everyone, here is what happened to me:
Early February this year I started looking for a Lancer Evo, I browsed around and stumbled unto a couple of Evos on eBay, I used carfax to research all the cars I found. This one particular EVO GSR had 1,000 miles but was advertised as brand new and had the SSS, Aero Kit, Interior Sport package and a couple of other things. Suggested MSRP was $38K + . I looked up the VIN number on carfax and found that the car was registered to a new owner in February 26, 2008 as a personal vehicle at the Spring Hill, FL DMV. I quickly contacted the seller (Hernando, FL Mitsubishi) and asked them how can they consider the car brand new, when it has a been registered to a new owner, I said the following in my e-mail “Hi, I looked up the car on carfax.com and saw that it had been already registered to one personal owner before, how are you considering it a new car? And would you be willing to sell it for 23K Thanks.” they replied that “That sale fell through and was never titled it is a new car. I have reserves set @ $29,900.00 and I will sell outside of Ebay.”
Since the dealership is about 45 minutes from my home, I planned to take a test drive, I e-mailed the dealership (the salesman I was communicating with was Mark) he did not reply. I showed up to test drive the car, I drove it and fell in love with it, coming from a 2008 Nismo 350Z that was Twin Turboed, sure the Evo lacked the power but the feel of the car, the interior, the feel of the transmission was awesome. I told Mark and other people that were helping him sell the car that I can not make a decision today as I am bidding on another car on e-bay and will have to talk it over with my wife before I can decide. They tried very hard to sell the car, even got the General Manager to tell me how I can get out of the high bid on e-bay, but I got out of there with out buying it. Including bidding on a car on e-bay, I still was not sure if I could buy the car because all my paperwork with my old car wasn’t settled. I researched the car some more and was getting more and more excited, but something seemed to good to be true. They had offered me 29K before taxes and fees, and I was going to be OTD under 32K. I decided to e-mail Mark and ask him about all the miles on the car, I wrote the following in my e-mail “Hi Mark, I e-mailed you last night, not sure if you got my e-mail. it was from my other e-mail account axxxx@xxxxxxs.comBasically, I will make a decision very soon, there are a couple of things holding me up. I will keep you updated and e-mail you later today. I had one question, the Evo that I test drove had 1,099 miles on it, who put all those miles on it and the break in period for this car is the first 1,000 plus miles. Has it been broken it the right way?” Mark responded “Aleksey, those miles have been test drive miles only.” So I was excited, and looking forward to hopefully getting the car soon. February 19th comes around and I am ready to buy the car, we get a draft from our credit union for 32K and go to the dealer, everything goes smoothly, we agree that there are a couple of things in the car that need to be replaced like the Aero side skirts, they were loose, seemed like someone stepped on them, but everything else went well. So I take the car home and they said that they will call me when they get the parts in to fix the Aero kit side skirts. A week later I get a call that the parts came in and I can come in and they will take care of it. That same day I had to go buy the performance shop that I did a lot of work on my Z (S and R Performance) I had to drop some of my old OEM Z parts. I get there and had to wait for a little bit, while waiting I started talking to the guys in the lobby, I ended up saying I just bought and Evo X and the guy (Alex) says what color is it, is it the blue that just drove in, I said yes, he said, where did you buy it?, I said in Hernando Mitsubishi, he asked does it have 1,000 miles on it?, I said yes. He proceeds to say, does it have tinted windows? I said yes, then he says while looking at his buddy, I told you man that’s my old Evo, I had it for two weeks, but could not convince my self to keep it, considering I have an Evo IX that has been modified. I was shocked, just shocked, I mean who wants to hear that someone had their car and decided not to keep it, I just could not believe the dealership did not inform me. Right from S and R, I drove to Hernando Mitsubishi for my service, I got there and wanted to speak to Mark, but I wanted to cool off a bit, so I just spoke to one of the service guys there, who was very nice. I had also asked them to see why I had an oil leak, they opened the car up and saw it was coming from the transmission, they said I better leave the car with them so they can investigate it and resolve the problem. I said fine, they gave me a rental and I went home. Before I left I saw Mark briefly, he asked me how I was doing and I just didn’t feel like talking to him about the news I had earlier, I was still pretty fused up. So, I just pretended like evryhting was fine, just told him what was happening with the car, the hood was to be painted cause it was chipped when I got the car, the side skirts replaced, oil leak getting fixed, and another scratch getting fixed on the side door. Later that day I e-mailed him (Marl) about the news I learned, he did not reply to my e-mail, I e-mailed again twice for a total of 3 emails and never heard back from him ( I e-mailed him for the first time on Friday). Tuesday rolls around and I decide to call Mark, he acts like everything is fine and tells me that he didn’t know this about the car, and that he will investigate further with the General Manager, I said ok. Mark calls me last night Wed, and says he spoke to the general manager and that the car was never officially owned by anyone as the guys Financing didn’t go through and the car was never titled and that I am the first official owner. I was like geez, we already knew that, my problem is that you lied to me about the miles that were put on the car and how they were put on the car. Mark said well we see it like this: whether 100 people took it for a test drive of 10 miles or one person drove it 1000 miles, it is the same thing. I just could not believe the stuff I was hearing. I told him that I want this to end quickly and for them to offer me something to make things right, he said I have to tell him what I want and he will see if they are willing to do anything. I said 2k refunded or install the Navigation Package. Later today I went to pick up my car, everything looked good as far as the repairs go, it sucks that they had to remove the whole engine and tranny to replace a couple of seals. But the guy that worked on the car seemed real nice and I feel like he did a great job on my car. As I am getting ready to leave Mark comes by and gives me the same speech, the car was not really owned by anyone and the General Manager feels like the reduced price justifies the situation. I could not believe the General Manager couldn’t and didn’t feel like je should come out and tell me personally this, but he didn’t. Mark continued to day that they will not be giving me anything to make the situation right. I said I want to talk to the General Manager, Mark said he is busy right now, I said I will wait and can’t believe that he doesn’t thinks that this is a priority. I waited and about 10 minutes later, Mark comes out and I saw through the window the General Manger not come out with him but just walk somewhere else, Mark says that the General Manager will not be doing anything for me and he is just the messenger. I told him I could not believe this, and that I was trying to be very civil and calm about the situation, but I guess they want this out in public about how they lie about the condition of their cars. So here I am now, asking for your opinions, I am going to e-mail this story to some Mitsubishi Corporate folks and call a bunch of people at Mitsubishi, but if anyone has any direct e-mails or numbers for Mitsubishi people who have some say on things of this manner, that would be very helpful for me. Thanks.

saw car had 1000 miles on it and carfax said it had a previous owner, asked dealer where the miles came from and has it been previously owned, dealer said the deal fell through and all the miles are test drive miles only and the car is brand new. A week later met the guy who owned my Evo for 2 weeks and put the 1000 miles on it, told dealer, dealer said they will not do anything for me.

omg i was bored enough to read that ESSAY...
short story long...
dude went to buy a evo x after hee sold his TT 350z...
he liked the car haggled them down to the price they both aggreed on...
he questions why it has 1k on it and why was it owned before but the dealer calls it a new car...
dealer tells him the finance on the old owner never went through so technically it is a new car...
finds out later when he is dropping off parts for his 350z that one of the guys at that shop had owned the car for 2 weeks... but didnt like it since he had a evo9...
so he feels since dealer lied to him about the ownership he should get a 2k refund...

Its your fault, how can you believe them when they say the car has never been owned when it has 1100 miles on it. And you checked the carfax and its says it been owned before. It seems you were desperate to have a evo x of your own.
